R incon White 66 Boasting a 1O-4 season record, the Ranger Frosh Purple basketball team, under the leadership of Coach Joe Young, ran a close second to the Frosh White team. Subdued only by Tucson High, Flowing Wells, Salpointe, and the Rincon Frosh White team, the Frosh Purples overwhelmed Tucson, Rincon White, Salpointe, Pueblo twice, Amphi twice, Catalina twice, and Flowing Wells. The success ot this team's efforts is undeniable, and Coach Young's players will put their skill and desire to good use on future Ranger varsity teams. The Ranger Jayvee basketball squad, under the competent coaching ot Ray Coley, compiled a season ot which it can be proud - l2 wins and only 6 losses. These mighty freshmen tri- umphed over the Catalina Troians twice, Phoenix Union, Sunnyside twice, Flowing Wells twice, Pueblo, the Tucson Badgers, Amphi, and the Rincon Frosh Purple once. With this outstanding showing by Coach Dick McConnell's frosh roundballers, Rincon will have high hopes and expectations for its varsity teams in the years to come.
