The Ranger Jayvee basketball squad, under the competent coaching ot Ray Coley, compiled a season ot which it can be proud - l2 wins and only 6 losses. Boosting The Ranger slate To eight wins was The Camel- back-Rincon game. The game was hard-fought, with The score jumping back and forth from one Team To The other. BUT The outcome was in favor of The big Purple - 58-55. Following up The Camelback victory, The Rincon round- ballers made up for a previous early-season loss To The Panthers. With The scoring of Kellogg and Jackson, The Rangers grabbed The Amphi game with a final score of 61-52. Nile Vail gets ready To grab The hoped-for rebound. Pace and Dickerson reach for The Trojan roundball. Rincon's final loss of The season was handed by Wash- ington High School. When Washington cuT loose in The sec- ond half, our chances To catch up became slim, and The game was Taken by Them 51-61. The last game of The season brought The Rangers face To face with Their EasTside rivals, The Catalina Trojans, for The second Tirne. Having been previously defeated by us, The Trojans were ouT for blood. In a fast-moving game, Trojan Clive Seal paced Catalina, while Jackson and Kellogg led The Rangers. Subdued only by Tucson High, Flowing Wells, Salpointe, and the Rincon Frosh White team, the Frosh Purples overwhelmed Tucson, Rincon White, Salpointe, Pueblo twice, Amphi twice, Catalina twice, and Flowing Wells. The success ot this team's efforts is undeniable, and Coach Young's players will put their skill and desire to good use on future Ranger varsity teams.
