Boosting The Ranger slate To eight wins was The Camel- back-Rincon game. The game was hard-fought, with The score jumping back and forth from one Team To The other. BUT The outcome was in favor of The big Purple - 58-55. Following up The Camelback victory, The Rincon round- ballers made up for a previous early-season loss To The Panthers. With The scoring of Kellogg and Jackson, The Rangers grabbed The Amphi game with a final score of 61-52. Nile Vail gets ready To grab The hoped-for rebound. Pace and Dickerson reach for The Trojan roundball. Rincon's final loss of The season was handed by Wash- ington High School. When Washington cuT loose in The sec- ond half, our chances To catch up became slim, and The game was Taken by Them 51-61. The last game of The season brought The Rangers face To face with Their EasTside rivals, The Catalina Trojans, for The second Tirne. Having been previously defeated by us, The Trojans were ouT for blood. In a fast-moving game, Trojan Clive Seal paced Catalina, while Jackson and Kellogg led The Rangers. When The final buzzer sounded, Rincon held the game 50-43, winding up a 1O-8 season. i l l Armstrong hesiTaTes before passing To an unguarded teammate. 196

The six TeeT Ten inches of SalpoinTe's Dave Mills proved Too much height Tor The Rangers in Their second game vviTh The Lancers. Having overcome This handicap in The TirsT meeTing, Rincon had an OTT-nighT in The second, slipping behind in The Third ciuarfer. The game ended 5l-58 in The Lancers' Tavor. l l T The Rangers sTruggle To snag The rebound. T The Rangers rebounded back from a Three-game losing ,Treak in Their meeTing with Phoenix ST. Mary's. Through- auT The game The Rangers kepT a reigning hand, and closed he score wifh an eighT-poinT lead, 53-45. Facing Pueblo Tor The second Time This season, The Pur- T Jle and WhiTes aTTempTed To overThrow The Warriors, buT l l were again meT wiTh Pueblo's speed and drive, which losT 'he game for The Rangers. The Ranger Jayvee basketball squad, under the competent coaching ot Ray Coley, compiled a season ot which it can be proud - l2 wins and only 6 losses. The Junior Varsity, defeated by Sunnyside, Tucson Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Rincon Sunnyside Tucson Salpointe Yurna Phoenix Union Pueblo Amphi Carl Hayden Catalina Phoenix Central Tucson Salpointe St. Mary's Pueblo Camelback Amphi Washington Catalina High, Catalina, and Camelback, overran all the other roundballers they faced.
