Hard-running halfback Mike Manning scored both Rincon tallies, quarterback Mike Armstrong booted both conversions, and defensive ace Tommy Norvelle blocked both Catalina conversion attempts to pace the action. The hard-charging Rincon line headed by Bob Orin, Doug Forte, Mike Hess, and Jim Brogdon kept pressure on Catalina in the second half to bottle up the one- touchdown favorites. The Troians, pre-season favorites for the football flag, dom- inated the statistics throughout the game, but it was the husky line of Rincon that stymied Catalina on crucial plays, and won the game, T11-TQ. l8l
