GQKX. .xv wane. . . .. . l What is Rincon? In Spanish, Rincon is a corner. The Rincon that we know is school at the corner of Swan Road and Fifth Street. lt covers 40 acres of land. The 55,630 square feet of floor space contains: 55 classrooms, a lan- guage lab, l0 shops, 2 gyms, an auditorium, a greenhouse, a bookstore, 8 counselors' offices, an administration build- ing, cafeteria, and stadium. The nurse's office, which is located in the administration building, pulls in l50 cus- tomers a week iwhich is 50 less than the counselors' office, which holds an average of 200 except at the semester rush when the figure doublesl. The glass portion of the school is so expensive that it took one man seven weeks to do the wash iob when the school was newly completed. The maintenance staff takes care of the acres of grass which is watered from Rincon's own well. Eleven cafeteria employees prepare and serve 2800 doughnuts during the l7 minute snack breaks. The 1501 desks of the classrooms are occupied by students putting in 20,130 student learning hours each day. In addition to countless hours of preparation teachers work 960 lecture and 'lab hours. Two complete days of school run each day from 6:00 A.lVl. until l2:00 noon and from l2:l5 until 6:15 RM. using a total of 360.50 worth of gas and electricity per day. Statistics may be drab, but Rincon is everthing and then some to 3355 Rangers.

At the top left is pictured the recently named Senior Patio which will remain as a revered section of the campus to seniors and under- classmen as well.
