The Ranger harriers, under the direction of Coach Cody Mothershed, closed the 1959 cross-country season with a 2-5 record. Paced by senior Iohn Lacy and junior Fred Anderson, the Ranger squad defeated the Sal- pointe Lancers twice. Coach Mothershed commented that the squad showed a marked improvement this season, placing tenth in the State Meet. Last year, the boys came in nineteenth out of the twenty running. W R E S T I- I N G The B.H.S. wrestlers opened their season on Decem- ber 18 with a new coach, lXfIorris Schmieder. Par- ticipating for the first year in AA competition, the squad closed the season with a 2-8 record. Carl lVood, a junior, highlighted the season by winning the State Championship in the 95 pound class. Another Ranger, Gregg Pittman, won first 3 place in the State District Four Qualifying Tourna- , , ment, held at Rincon, in the 103 pound Weight class.
