Trailing the first three quarters of play, the Badgers made their victory hid late in the final quarter. XVith only thirty seconds remaining, T.H.S. went ahead with the Winning score of 48-46. in iffexNca,v RICHARD KING VW?-t The Ranger basketball team compiled an impressive 14-6 record as they completed a very outstanding season, their first in AA competition. The biggest wins were the two scored against their eastside rival, Catalina. The highlight of the season came as the team passed C.H.S. 52-495 thus, throwing the Division 4-AA race into a deadlock for first place. The win over Catalina handed the number one city position to the Rangers. Traveling to the State Tourna- ment in Tempe, the Rangers gained victories over YVest Phoenix and Nlesa to reach the semi-finals. There, they met the power-packed Phoenix Union Coyotes, the un- defeated defending State Champions. Falling to the Coy- otes, R.H.S. faced St. Marys in the consolation bracket.
