Cinder the leadership of advisor, Dave Lawrence, the girls spent long hours in practice to perfect routines. In addition, poster parties, long bus rides and em- phasis on balance in mounts prepared the squad for tryouts for the Varsity squad. i:.S.F. L.A.P.G. California Scholarship Federation was a statewide organization recognizing young men and women for academic excellence. Rim included its honored students among the 65,000 scholars in 1000 California chapters. It accepted students who had a 3.6 grade point average or better in academic subjects. Top seniors were awarded gold cords at graduation for their achievement of being a member four semesters or more. Discounted Dodger baseball tickets and Disneyland trips were some of the benefits of being in the top tenth percentile of all students in Califor- nia. The club advisor was Mr. Lakatos. Lake Arrowhead ' Pretty Girls was a spirit club which came into being this year. This club ' s main function was raising funds for the school. heei Jhe VARSITY The cheerleaders endured many hard- ships, but despite their problems, they went on to do a great job of supporting all our athletic teams. They held pep rallies to get the students in- volved with the different teams, and to en- courage them to show their support. During the summer they attended the United Spirit Associations Camp of Champs at CJ.C.S.D. This proved very beneficial in helping them with their performances. Dave Lawrence was their campus advisor.
