IVinaU 1983 was a stunning year for the Varsity Baseball Team. Coached by Chuck Webb, Tim Steele, and Ed Burns, this team went to the top and remained there. The only seniors on the varsity Scots, Jay Gregson, Guy Hargreaves, and Zane Boyster, caused the team to have more spirit and en- thusiasm than ever before. These three awesome baseball players will never be forgotten. The Varsity Team was comprised of most- ly juniors. There were, though, two underclassmen on the Varsity roster. Steve Lee, sophomore, and Chris Lewis, freshman, greatly enjoyed the privilege of playing for the Varsity coaches. The Mighty Rim of the World Varsity Scots had a season to remember. Coach Webb is confident that next year will be the same! w1 £ ' ' ' ' ' ' f ti IBv ' BHr ' ■■ ' s 130 — Varsity Baseball

Brine It On tl It seems appropriate that the Varsity Soft- ball squad, being such a young team, should be coached by a first year lady. Straight from college comes Sue Strain. Not only does she possess college play ex- perience, but she also coached j.v. volleyball and basketball. Coach Strain br- ings hustle and vitality to a team that hadn ' t known that for some time. Backing the head coach was Karen Droll- inger. Karen is a local person who, in previous days, played on semi-pro cham- pion Softball teams and also managed to play in the Woman ' s Basketball League (Professional). Her expertise lies in the pit- ching department which is a tremendous help to the coach and players. Making up the team were fourteen girls in- cluding six returning varsity members. Leading the pack were All-League seniors Patty Goodwin and Stacy Sunny, while Jill Hayhurst, Barbara Duckworth, Melinda Bandick and Dorothy Hert lend their need- ed talent to this already heavily talented team. Up from j.v. are the likes of Julie Torgan and sophomore pitching phenon Susan Hall. Next year the Scots will have ten returners so things will be looking rather well for the next few years. om€L . i. ... ». ' V., HHi, ,•« ►« .
