Of course we thought that we were terribly important members of the sch ol and all that you know We lo ked down n the Junior high students with an aloof extremely sophist cated contempt and tried to copy the seniors God s chosen we thought And then there w re those fo tbalt heroes l guess we were terribly rah rah with our cowbells and confetti at the football games and we yelled until we were exnausted for dear ole Ridgewood High lt was the era before Gone With the Wind so we read Maudie stones and cracked Little Audrey Jokes The boys played ntramural basketball and all the while had aspirations toward football Glen Gray was the maestro of our favorite orchestra remember? We never even heard of this Goodman fellow Everyone hummed the Music Goes Round and we thought the stunt of hiding bottle caps in pie crusts extremely hilarious until we ate one The Shag took the place of the then unheard of Blg Apple and we hopped around at dances until the floors rattled We also discovered that if we were looking for someone or a generous sundae we could f1nd both at Zach s out their programs etght months ln advance Oh studies? Yes I guess that we had studies Naturally we werent nearly as studious as we are now but most of us liked DAVID COPPERFIELD and IULIUS CAESAR and could be heard about the halls mumbling Friends Romans Countrymen Reflections are always Oh werent we silly' but it was fun wasnt it?
