A couple weeks later we were initiated by the Honorable Juniors and we were honored with a skating party in the evening at Decorah Rollar Rink. We elected for our President David Sime, Vice President, Duane Snyder, Secretary, Sharron Hove and Treasurer, Sandra Ernst In the fall of 1955 only thirteen sophomores returned Clifford Blomgren left to go to Decorah High School and Duane Harvey and Carol Askelson went to Cresco High School Our class officers were President, Sharron Hove, Vice President, Beverly Rue and Secretary Treasurer, Charles Anderson Our Junior Year brought us a larger class with the return of Duane Harvey Our Class Offlcers were President, Denis Wemark Vice President, Charles Anderson and Secretary Treasurer, David Sime, Each member of the class certainly had his thinking cap on when it came to initiating the freshmen Nearly all of the punish ment 'in the book' was enforced upon us. The main events of our Junior Year were the Junior Senior Prom and our class play. The theme for the prom that we gave the Seniors was 'Oriental Gardens Our mothers served a banquet at the church hall which consisted of Chinese food. We then went to the gym and danced to the music of the Postville Pirate Cats At one o'clock we attended a show at Cresco, we then came back to the school and breakfast was served by our mothers All in all we would say we had a very I direction of Mrs. Carleton Baker. Our last and final year began with fifteen members Clifford Blomgren also returned. He too had had enough of other schools and so returned to Ridgeway, Our Class Officers were President, D I Sharron Hove, Vice President, Je Ro Fjelstul and Secretary Treasurer, Beverly Rue. ,J I O O ' e - ' I , - Q6 . fl O O successfull Prom. Our class play was Almost Summer' under the 3? O X V 7 7 This year was a very adventurous year for all of us Our first trip was to Mason City to have our pictures taken Luckly enough, no one broke the camera The sociology class was again allowed to take a field trip to Rochester, Minnesota. we will remember all the 'good looking piolts we didn't see at the airport. Our biggest trip and most adventurous one was to the 'windy city of Chicago We will all remember Bev's 'ring experience' and the girl across the street Our Senior Class Play was 'Lilacs In The Rain' and it was directed by Mrs Carleton Baker. We will all remember all of Sharron's love scenes and all of the practicing and directing it took to make them perfect. In the spring we Banquet. '-If P1 941 hocvhng, A Q3 431,43 Son og You are getting sleeoier You are relaxing and drifting slowly, slowly into a deep sleep Suddenly everything begins to spin What's happening? Everything looks so different. You suddenly realize that this is the future and you are now about to begin a flight across the United States The year is 1970. The date is Saturday April 26 You are taking off from Los Angles. As you start down the runway you notice a Q00 large group of reporters and photographers who are trying to get someone's picture You decide Shlpfbh you must see who this is eo you go closer This face looks very familiar Yes, it is Denis Wemark our great nuclear scientist about to embark for ,4:11--- Russia to exchange information iith the Russian sQ:::f -- Scientists. We hear a call 'Flight 300 about to leave. If W N We rush up the runway and are greeted by two ' Sbmutd lovely and charming stewardesses Why is it possible? Yes, none other than R1dgeway's own Beverly Rue and Sharron Hove Beverly and Sharron do everything possible to make our trip enjoyable They even agree to introduce us to the pilot The pilot turns out to be David Sime I replied, 'I finally found something that wouhd go fast enough for me and a place with no speed limits Within a matter of minutes we are at our first stop, Dallas, Texas. At Dallas we decide to visit our old school mate Charles Anderson who owns a huge ranch covered with oil wells when we arrive there we find that he is throwing a big party even has a big dance band playing The band leader turns out to be none other then Paul Jirak and his famous tuba. gf A QJU. Charles invites us to spend the night on his ranch so he can take us to see the stupendous new g1rl's school he's built for the city of Dallas e next morning we got up early so we could see 11cLPl the school before our plane leaves for Chicago. When we enter the school we are greeted by the superintendent Betty Jirak and the principal Sonja Amundson As we continue our tour through the school we meet one of their best teachers Marilyn Wemanz. We bid Charles good by and took off for Chicago where we wanted to hop for a new car and continue our trip. 11 When we reach Chicago we are dire ted to Duane N Harvey's Pontiac garage and Kayne Anderson' Word bdqixno Both of them claim to have the best cars give u the best deal so we simply canft mind up as to which one ue should buy can't make up our mind we decide to continue by plane. To Mrs. Baker we will a better class of girls that won't be so attrac ted by the armed forces at play practice. The evening began with a banquet served at the Ridgeway Lutheran Parish Hall by the Junior Mothers. After the banquet a program was presented with Roger Bergan acting as toastmaster. Short talks were given by Leanne Bakken, Sharron Hove, Mr. Rober, Mr. Larson, Beverly Rue, and Mary Samec. Ramona Anderson and Edward Shilney and Denis Wemark favored us with solo's. After the crowning of the King and Queen, Chuck Anderson and Marilyn Wemark, we all went to the gym for the dance The gym was covered with flowers carrying out the theme 'April Love' The Music was provided by the Rod Ellickson Combo.
