On March 31 1957 we completed th1s connraptron and started all the wheels turmng It smoked sp1t and coughed but frnally rt krcked 1nto gear and started to purr lrke a mountatn l1on We Jumped tnto II Just as tt took off We traveled through trust for a long ttme and fmally we h1t hard solrd ground As we stepped out upon the ground a beautrful stght struck our eyes It wasn t the past or rt wasn t the present so we knew th1s was the future and as II seemed we had landed on the Great Metropolts of Rldgeway We landed at the atrport and were walktng around when we saw a brrght Jet land1ng at the other end of the runway We watched II for awhrle and as tt came closer II appeared to be on f1re We started runnrng toward rt to see what was wrong and to our surprtse ll wasn t on fue at all The sun was shrntng on the pllot s red halt and tlus was what carrted the fue lrke glow The ptlot turned out to be none other than EUGENE HUHE We walked up to htm and asked htm what year II was and what he was do1ng here He rnformed us that II was March 31 1967 and that he was a test ptlot He sard he was now test1ng the A R 100 and he asked us 1f we wanted to meet the destgner ALAN RUE We accepted hrs tn vrtauon and went tnto the atrport He was busy at the tune d1ctat1ng letters to hrs secretary DEANNA ALBERTSON so we watted rn t e recepuon room After a long talk w1th them asked rf they could dtrect us to a respectable res taurant and hotel They drrected us to the Cotant a newly bu1lt modern hotel 1n the heart of the c1ty We called a cab and frve mtnutes later a btg black Ford came to take us to the hotel We got tn and started talkrng to the drrver who sounded very fam1l1ar After we had patd our fare II dawned on by Sharron Hove Sandra Ernst and Beverly Rue us that ROGER HOVDEN was the dr1ver but we couldn t frgure out why Roger was dr1v1ng a Ford We were greeted at the recepuon desk by the owner hrmself DAVID COTANT Because we were old frrends he gave us hrs most exclustve sutte We bought a c1ty newspaper and went up to change for d1nner It turned out that the edrtor was CHARLENE WOLDAIX. We examrned rt to see just what k1nd of paper she ed1ted It was very rnterest mg The cartoons amazed us the most They were by NEVA LEHMAN We also nottced the f1ne work the sports edrtor FERDIE ARMSTRONG had done After we had changed we went to the drntng room for drnner Durlng our meal we were enter tarned by the two well known p1an1sts SANDRA FIELSTUL and LEILANI HOVDEN After drnner we went to the fabulous Chlnese Room Theu feature attractron was a mustcal team of CHARLES MEYER and ANDREA BAKKEN W were also very tmpressed by thetr master of cere montes PHILIP RYAN After an enJoyable evenlng we retlred The next mornrng we woke up early enough to get out to the stock car races We recogruzed the women s champron as SHARON BAKKEN and also the men s champton as WAYNE WEMARK who had just broken all records In the afternoon we vlstted a legtslature meetlng where at the present trme DONALD HRDINA was hlibustering and was on hrs 98th hour We also v1s1ted the exclustve shopping center The feature model was our old frlend KAY TRYTTEN After two days here we decrded we had had enough of th1s l1fe and returned to the atrport to see if our machtne was sttll there Lucky for us rt was and luckrer yet we got there Just as rt was taktng off agarn We once more started to fly through space Frnally we landed and tt s a good thrng we d1d because the second we stepped out rt blew up rnto a mtllron precesl I , . , , I - I I y ' .v ' 9 i l 3 I I I ' 7 , - l p .'
