In the play Chuck, an adoles- cent youth, got into plenty of trouble because of his need of money to take his girl, Ginny, to the Spring Dance. Chuck's father pun- ished him for taking the car without ask- ing for it, Hugo, the rich bankers son, was after his girl, his snooping brother, Billie, played detect- ive, and haunted him throughout the play. N. 4 A .N5 , wwf, 000 7 Love Apples Butterflies and Nectar Cool Breeze Evening Dew J M i EHS' N. ,rf ,.,.,4-iv' s 11 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Of the Senior Class the following have attended school all twelve years at Ridgeway: Russell Crawley, Robin Harrison, Leroy Stewart, Joe Yeater, Carlyle Ramey, Darwyn Hale, Bradley Eivins, Verea Jean Williams and Karen Rankin. Miss Pauline Wheeler guided us through our First Grade year, and our Second, Third, and Fourth Grade teacher was Miss Blanche Stanley We began Fifth Grade with Mrs. Clara Tanner as our teacher and in the Sixth Grade we were taught by Miss Maxine Norwood. Our Seventh Grade teacher was Mrs. Aloise O'Nei1l. We graduated from the Eighth Grade with Mrs. Marie Reece as our teacher. When school began in September, 1950, the following twenty- eight Freshmen enrolled as prospective graduates of l95L, with Mrs. Orville Cokerham as our sponsorf Mavis Heitz, Bill Pierson, Russell Crawley, Marnell McQuerry, Zelda Craig, Verea Jean Williams, Carlyle Ramey, Joe Yeater, Arlene Zimmerman, Gary Gibson, Jennie Lawson, Bradley Eivins, Rosanne Shaw, Jack Booth, Leroy Stewart, Karen Rankin, Norman Crabtree Maxine Miller, Robin Harrison, Irene Zimmerman, Rex Redinger, Nadine Hillyard, Darwyn Hale, Patsy Provin, Duane Nible, Frederick Johannsen, Gerald Johnson, and Lloyd Lawson. During our Freshman year we lost Rosanne Shaw, Jennie Lawson, Lloyd Lawson, Frederick Johannsen, Gerald Johnson, and Jack Booth. Jack came back later in the year. Class officers that year were: Marnell McQuerry, President, Bill Pierson Vice President, Mavis Heitz, Secretary-Treasurer, and Russell Crawley, Reporter. As the fall of '51 arrived the Sophomore Class was joined by Jessee NSkipU Ward. Our class officers were HSkipH Ward, President, Bill Pierson, Vice President, Karen Rankin, Secretary, and Mavis Heitz, Treasurer. We lost Marnell McQuerry, who chose to be a housewife, and Bill Pierson, who entered school in Topeka, Kansas. Fire destroyed our school September lL, 1951, and one week later we started school again, this time in buildings up town, with Miss Sybert and Mr. Mordue as our sponsors. At last in '52 we became uoper-classmen, and started school in the new building with Gary McKinley as a new classmate. Officers elected for this year were: Russell Crawley, President, Leroy Stewart, Vice President, Karen Rankin, Secretary, Mavis Heitz, Treasurer, and Gany McKinley, Reporter. During our Junior year we gained Mervin Meek, who enrolled here from Trenton High School in the middle of the year. Mb held the annual Junior-Senior Banquet in the high school library on April 18. After many hours of hard practice HSeventeen Is Terifficn was presented as our Junior Play on May 12 and lL, under the direcdon of Mrs. Bernice Dowis. This year Miss Sybert was our sponsor. We lost a member of our class, Nadine Hillyard, by death just bekne we started back to school as Seniors in the fall of '53. We gained Colleen Travis, who enrolled here from North Kansas City, and we lost Gary McKinley, who moved to Arizona. Class officers our Senior year were: Russell Crawley, President, Mavis Heitz, Vice President, CdDeen Travis, Secretary, Patsy Provin, Treasurer, and Zelda Craig, Reporter, with Mrs. Irene Blankinship as our sponsor. The class of 195k has established an owl crest to be used on all Class I'iDSS- We received our rings September 7. They furnished the tree and also did the decorating. The Student Council sponsored the assemblies which were given every two weeks.
