dedication THE REVEREND L. K. ZEHNER Te the Senior Class of 19 2 respectfully dedicate this book to the memory of The Rev. L. M. Zehner, who departed this life on October 10, 19 1. He will long be remembered for his 26 years of service as the Clerk of the Board of Education, his 31 years as pastor of Zion Lutheran congregation in Ridgeville Corners, and as a Christian and faithful friend to all with whom he was associated. ' TIB III f fliriT If I—Hll administration Board of Education Standing: Otto Dehnbostel, Fred Buchhop, Seated: Raymond Behnnan, Henry Eggers, Eldor Helmke, Frank Knape Id. E. BRANDON To the members of the Board of Education is given the task of see- ing that all functions of the school are properly adminstered. They strive to make the school one of which the students can be proud. 6 Faculty The words of any editor would be far to inadequate to describe this energetic and intellectual person. In addition to his many duties as superintendent, Mr. Hesteman capably fulfills the position of teacher and class adviser. No natter how busy he is, he is always eager to help students solve their problems. The sinc- erest friend students hope to find, always doing everything possible to help then. F. F. HESTERMAN GEORGE CLARK One might call a principal a man whom everyone needs, of whom no one is aware, and who is often not fully appreciated. He is our teacher, guide and at times disciplinarian, but always our friend. Those tasks he has performed ably and suc- cessfully. VERNON HESTSRMAN B.S. The officers elected for our Freshmen year were Victor Hesterman, President; Carlton Meyer, Vice President; Frances Bostelmen, Secretary; and Frank- lin Damman, Treasurer. Mrs. Ide was selected as our adviser. Initiation followed a few weeks after the school term began. As usual the Sophomores had the pleasure of initiating us. To make us feel better after the initiation day, they gave us a party that evening. Later we sponsored a party for them. Twenty-seven students returned the following year. Since we were Sophomores, it was our turn to initiate the Freshmen. We elected the following officers for the Sophomore year: Carlton Meyer, President; Victor Hesterman, Vice President; Esther Schlueter, Secretary; and Arlene Warncke, Treasurer. We chose Mr. Ebersple as our adviser. Each month we published the Hi Stepa, our school paper. Our editor and assistant editor were Virginia Kulp and Arlene Homan, respectively. Refreshments at home basketball games were sold by our class also. The twenty-two Juniors of '50 elected Roland Bunke, Presi- dent; Victor Hesterman, Vice President; Howard Miller, Secretary; Henry Wachtman, Treasurer; and Miss Max, adviser. We were proud to wear our class rings, which we received in October. Meet My Wives , the play which the Juniors presented in March, was a great success. Early in May we held the Junior-Senior Banquet, with the Wishing Well as the theme. After the banquet we were entertained by a quartette and a chalk talk. The nineteen students who completed their Junior year re- turned this year to graduate. We elected the following officers: Victor Hesterman, President; Howard Miller, Vice President; Ruth Maassel, Secretary; Arlene Homan, Treasurer; and Mr. Hester- man. adviser. Our graduation pictures were taken in October and then came the task of deciding whether we wanted to put out an annual. After agreeing we wanted an annual, Ruth Maassel was elected editor and Victor Hesterman, assistant editor. On May 11, Baccalaureate Services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church, in charge of Rev. George Maassel. Commencement was held on May 14. The address was given by Professor Donald Longworth. After the graduation exercises, the class will visit Washington, D. C., and New York City.
