Margaret Baden 1.605 CLASS PROPHECY While on my vacation tour in the year 1965, I STOPPED OFF AT RlDGEVILLE CORNERS, OHIO, FOR ABOUT TWO DAYS TO SPEND SOME TIME LOOKING AT THE MARVELOUS CHANGES THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE SINCE MY GRADUATION FROM DEAR R0 H. S. I WAS ESPECIALLY PLEASED TO VIEW THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED MUNICIPAL Building by Contractor Kent Ruffer. Arriving at the station, l checked my lug- gage. While l was walking around a little to look over the town before going to my HOTEL, WHOM SHOULD 1 MEET BUT MRS. CARL DIETRICH, THE FORMER Lois Ann Heldberg. while we had lunch together AND TALKED OVER OLD TIMES, SHE INFORMED ME CON- CERNING THE LATEST HAPPENINGS. I LEARNED THAT Darwin Beck had become a famous lawyer in town- HE HAD WON ALL OF HIS CASES o ON THE SIDELINE HE SOLD ALL DIFFERENT MAKES OF CARS. That evening Lois and l were among the SPECTATORS AT A BASKETBALL GAME IN WHICH THE Sloppy Shooters coached by Roger Eicher and man- aged by Ed Delventhal were playing. Wanting to do some shopping the next day, i arrived at the business district and found an EXCLUSIVE DRESS SHOP, WHICH TO MY GREAT SURPRISE WAS BEING MANAGED BY MYRA GAUVEY AND LOIS BURK- HOLDER, WHO HAD AS THEIR PRIVATE SECRETARY ARLENE Lohse. Arlene informed me that Dorothy Gerken was Supervisor of nurses at the hospital here at Ridgeville. Arnold Rosebrock had become the Chief Engineer on the Gerald non-stop train line. Laura Miller and Arnold Miller are the owners of THE BIG JET-PROPELLED AUTO INDSUTRY AND ARE QUITE A SOARING SUCCESS. Leaving the dress shop, i continued on my SHOPPING TOUR. AS I WAS WALKING ON, I PASSED THE THEATER AND SAW THAT THE BILLING FOR THAT EVENING WAS COMEDIAN CARL ROSEBROCK AND TEDDY FKEYTAG WITH HIS SINGING GUIT AR 0 THEIR SPONSOR WAS ARTHUR Hesterman, WHO WAS ALSO A RADIO TECHNICIAN FOR STATION WAXB. Flordia, SOME TO Back at the hotel, resting from my shopping TOUR, I SAT OOWN TO READ THE EVENING PAPERS, THE HEADLINES OF WHICH WERE ABOUT TWO FAMOUS SCIEN- TISTS, namely Richard Kulp and Paul Rohrs who had MADE A GREAT DISCOVERY WHY WATER IS WET. RIGHT BELOV THAT HEADLINE WAS THIS INFORMATION: U. S. DELEGATE, ROBERT DEHNBOSTEL, WITH HIS PRIVATE SECRETARY, PHYLLIS DEHNBOSTEL, HAS LEFT FOR A MONTH’S VACATION AT A FAMOUS RESORT IN OPERATED BY JANE CONWAY, A NOTED AUTHOR OF RECENT BEST-SELLING BOOKS. Paging on further in the paper, I came THE PICTURES OF TWO FAMOUS POWERS MoDELS, WHO HAD RECEIVED CONTRACTS FROM HOLLYWOOD, AND WHO SHOULD THEY BE BUT LORNA GERKEN AND MARGARET BADEN. I ALSO READ IN THE AERONAUTICS SECTION THAT RAMON Zimmer ano Richard Brandt had broken a new record IN FLYING BY GOING AROUND THE WORLD IN A JET PLANE THREE TIMES NON-STOP. While on the train the next day, glancing THROUGH A MAGAZINE I HAD PURCHASED, I NOTICED THAT THE FAMOUS DRESS MAKER AND DESIGNER MARY MEYERHAD MADE A GOWN FOR THE PRESIDENT’S WIFE. Soon l arrived in Chicago, and back to work at the Tim-Ten dimestore owned by my sister and ME WITH ONLY MEMORIES REMAINING OF A WONDERFUL VACATION TRlPp INCLUDING THE HAPPY HOURS IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS.
