C1ass H istory . Our class started school in the fall of 1939, there were twenty -eight pupils. In 1940, we lost Virginia Courtney, and Joanne Stouder. During the school year we gained: Geneva Barnett, Bobby Evans, Danzil Auker, Bill Fruitt, Phyllis McClarren, LA1ice and Lydia Young. In the Third Grade we lost: Phyllis McClarren, Betty Terrell, Myrtle Shanefelt, Bob Hershberger, and ivan Durham. During the Fourth Grade we gained: Nina Carpenter, Phillip Hathawey, Lois Ramsey, Doris Alderman, Roy Shaneyfelt, Carol Murphy, Eugene and Norman Cloyd, Alice and Lydia Young. Those who joined in the Fifth Grade were: Bob Gant, Frank Hummell, Edward Young, Richard l-limes, Marilyn Platt. Jay Tharp, and Roberta Busch. In the Sixth Grade: Kenneth Besel, Phyllis Galbriath, and Annalee Huffman joined. Our class lost Kenneth Bisel, Bob Fox, Philip Hathaway, Carol Murphy, Max Keener, and Roberta Busch. , We were joined by Kieth Milligan, Ralph Warner, and Marvin Osborne in the Seventh Grade. ' Those who joined us in the Eighth Grade were: Geneva Barnett, Doris Clark, Eddie Cox, Maria Hoffman, Jim E. Lewis, Burl McCord, Bill Richards, Bob Moyer, Theresa Morris, and Bob Simpson. Burl McCord, Nina Carpenter, Edward Young, Priscella Rench, Maria Hoffman, Roy Shanetfelt, Douglas Bright, Bill Fruit, Theresa Morris, Jack Tharp, Ralph Warner, Marvin Osborne, Genevieve James, Frank Hummel, Richard I-limes, Philip Hathaway, and Phyllis Galbriath were lost in the course of this year. In the Ninth Grade we sold popcorn at the ball games and also magazine subscriptions. We had two class parties during the year. kln the course of the Tenth Grade we lost Geneva Barnett, Doris Clark, Phyllis Jessup and Marilyn Platt. During this year we enjoyed two class parties, sponsored movies, and sold pennants. in our Eleventh year we gained Dan Ellis, Jim G. Lewis, and Merritt Patrick. At the latter part of the year we lost Lois Ann Ramsey, Merritt Patrick, Bob Simpson, Dan Ellis, and Bob Gant. This year we sold magazine subscriptions, Christmas holly, candy and ice cream at the ball games and at noon at the school. The last semester we gave a play Along Came Killroy which was a very good success. At the close of the year we took a trip to Chicago with the Seniors. This trip was enjoyed by everyone, Finally our last year came and we started it by having our Senior pictures taken at Dunkirk. immediately following the pictures we started to work on our class play. The play was Hobgoblin House presented on October 24. When we had finished the play we began to think about our Commencement announcements which we selected'along with our name cards. We then chose Reverend Raymond Harris for the commencement speaker, and Reverend William Barnard for the baccalaureate speaker. On May sixth a time that every- one had looked forward to for twelve years we had our baccalaureate service and May eleventh was Commencement night and everyone was proud to receive their diplomas and start out in the world to face the cares and problems that come.
