Besides G.A.A. these girls can also partici- pate in girls softball, girls archery, and girls track. I. Gilgenbach BEAUTY REIGNS I-IOMECUMING GAME AND FESTIVITIES GAIL LANSER Rain, snow, wind and cold will never stop the mail and it didn't stop the Ridgeville Rangers Homecoming either. The Rangers met Cleveland Luthern XV est in what was a very exciting game. The Rangers started out with a bang in the first half and scored two touchdowns to Luthern's one. The queen and her court were introduced at half time with Rita Meyers crowned by Sue Yost, last year's Homecoming Queen. The second half found Luthern West scoring two touchdowns to Ridge- ville's none and the Rangers lost 18-16. The next evening the queen and her court reigned over the 1963 Homecoming dance, which climaxed the week of festivities. Came Captain, Curtis Bolin pre- sents Homecoming Football to Queen, Rita Meyers. CHEERLEADERS SUPPORT Barbara Kessell, Rita Myers, Jane Hershey, Sue Schroeder, Helen Pappas, Shirley Mattioe. VARSITY CHEERLEADERS Varsity Cheerleaders in action. The cheerleaders of our school are an important part in sports and student life. The 1962-63 cheerleading squad did a fine job of keeping the student body be- hind the athletic teams. Besides boosting morale, the squad sold sweat shirts, organized hush-days, and for the first time created their own fund from which some of the expenses of cheer- leading could be paid. 1 BATTLE CRY V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, that's the Freshmen battle cry V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, that's the Sophomore battle cry V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, thatls the Junior battle cry V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, that's the SENIOR battle cry V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, that's the RANGER battle cry VICTORY RIDGEVILLE ATHLETICS FRESHMAN CHEERLEADERS . Sallay, B. Fate, President, A. Gerhart, C. Throne, Clerk, R. Schmittgen. The year is 1963, and we, who have always claimed a year of the future, now step into our own, and 'stand as the Roman, God-of-the-Gate way, Janus with two faces - one for the past and one for the future. In the past we see much to hold in our hearts and minds as a rightful part of our self, and in the future we see promises, hopes, more goals, and more gateways. There is much to leave and much to discover - yet, there is also much we can take, for as we attempt to drop our face for the past and direct our sites solely toward the future, we find in two small ways - in the form of memories and friends - Rangers will go with us . Superintendent of Schools- AND PLANS F OR THE FUTURE Congratulations to you, the graduating class of nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
