She has not only been a superintendent to us, but a friend as well. Her untiring interests have been with each and everyone of us throughout our strife for education.

Highlights of the Clam of '46 A fire? No! Iust fifty-one members of the class of '46 dashing to greet each other and Miss Ruth Dulmage for the first time in September, 1942, as freshmen. Our foremost business affair was the election of officers and we took great pride in our choice, for they were as follows: President, Donald Falknerg Vice President, Florence Line, Secretary, Virginia Lyons: Treasurer, Gerald Beesingg Social Chairman, Robert Schmittgeng Student Council, Donna Worcester. The next crisis to occur was the Freshman Party. We were nervous and our hearts were filled with joy and fear. The seniors of '43 demanded that the girls were not to wear any type of hair pins and were also not to apply cosmetics to aid their beauty. 'I'he boys looked like Chinamen, for they wore their shirts and ties backward. At the party in the evening, we were ushered into a large room where they gave us suckers and large kelly green bows for our hair and, worst of all, a sign was pinned on us saying, 'I am a freshie! It was a big compliment to us, because the seniors were admitting that a sign was necessary since we neither looked nor acted as freshmen. Our freshman year was completed by our daily lessons and duties, we looked forward to our sophomore year. Miss Dorothy Smith was our advisor during the sophomore year. Eleven of our class- mates had left us during vacation, and we welcomed four new members to our happy fam- ily: Marshall Houston, Curtis Paye, George Schwinn, and lack Hollinger. Our class officers for the year were: President, Donald Falkner, Vice President,. Gerald Beesingg Secretary, Mary Schultz: Treasurer. Paul Rothgeryg Social Chairman, Iames Woody Student Council Representative, Robert Schmittgen. For social activities, we gave an assembly program to entertain the other members of our school. lt was a play reminiscent of our grade school days, when we drew strange pictures on the blackboards, and the boys happily swished pigtails in the ink wells while everyone liked to crack bubble gum. What a lot of fun we had at birthday parties that year! Iinny and Bob were too young to mind telling their ages then. Our junior year opened by welcoming Mrs. Winona Newton to Ridgeville School. She guided our many undertakings during this eventful year. The class selection of officers were: President, Robert Kammiller, Vice President, Florence Line, Secretary, Donelda Rup- pelt, Treasurer, Donald Falknerg Program Chairman, Donna Worcester, Student Council Re- presentative, Robert Schmittgen. The class was now composed of thirty-six members, in- cluding three new members whom we had taken under our wings. They were Iune Mc- Gucken, Patricia Maddock, and Mike Demyan. Our junior year was distinguished by both V-E and V-I Days. It was a year of victory to us and to our nation. As a class, we climb- ed over the top to exceed all previous school records in the selling of magazinesg Neil Hen- son was our super salesman. Our prom was another victory of achievement. The setting of our prom was a Southern Colonial Garden. We all liked the garlands of roses and that swing, didn't we? Oh! Will the girls ever quit raving about the orchestra? Still another victory was the choice of our class rings by a unanimous vote. It seemed to us as though we had ordered heaven, or at least a pass word into the senior room. We did enter into the senior room a few months later, and, of course, no Ridgeville Seniors have ever been prouder of their achievement. Mr. M. C. Allen is the person we will always remember for the wise and sound advice on all important problems whichloccurred. The of- I-'Iva
