l The leaves are dry and crisp, 5 Every fall it seems to catch on l The leaves cover the ground like A a blanket. There is an oval squirrel's hole in i the trunk. 5 Its branches are like arms l Soon after they fall, the leaves , roll and tumble in the wind. ! l Lazy Life The sunset dwindles on the edge of the horizon Allowing us to absorb its radiant beauty. The waves gently crash against the sandy beach. The beach is a paradise for those who Treasure tranquility and a home for those , Who live in a tranquil state. by Ashley Crockett 8A3 The Wise Old Tree Q There is a wise old tree in our backyard, lts bark is rough and scratchy, fire. swaying in the wind. Morning dew makes the leaves F shimmer in the sunlight. It is a very glorious, wise, old tree. by, justin Poole 6C1 l The Mother She does and tries and works all day, And she always does it without any pay. And what does she get when she comes through the door, A whole bunch of kids Fighting more and more. Although she gets mad, she can sometimes be glad. She can put on a smile that lasts a long while. She can laugh and play and have a fun time, And she can even be a good friend of mine. And at times like this l once heard her say, Boy am I glad to be here today. Michael jamison Fall Leaves Look, look at the leaves with their glorious, brilliant colors, Look, look at the leaves flutter and sink to the ground, Now look at all the trees so bare, so brown. But now the leaves on the ground, no longer radiant, just round. No more glorious colors, Now they're just lying there flat and grim, Now the leaves are slowly, slowly becoming a part of the earth once again, Now there are no more leaves on the trees to plunge and sink to the ground. by, Sarah McGovern 6C1 7B2

Five-four, Five-all and then a tie-breaker This could be the n1atcl1 taker After two hours ar1d a half or so You finally beat your tennis foe! by Marc Glenn oDl 76 Me I think that I shall never be What people have seen in me. A person whose nose is in a book, And a hand upon the chesspiece rook. A person whose head is a net Where the schedule of life is set. A person that tries to uphold good, But not all evils are withstood. A person that may in summertime work Instead of going where adventures lurk. Upon whose soul scars are stark, And experiences leave their mark. But Cod has given courage and love, And hope and blessings from above. I have tried to be what I am not, But now I accept what I have got. by, David Chung SB3 Twas The Last Day Of School 'Twas tI1e last day of school Before summer began, The students were dreaming Of the beach and a tan. TI1e kids could not wait To get out of their class, So when tI1e hell rang, It was bedlam in mass, Since school was now over The kids could be lazy, If they were not having fun, And all acting crazy. Some went to camp. While others stayed home, But I went to Europe, And vacationed in Rome. Vacation is over. It went by much too fast, But the mothers are smiling, SchooI's starting at last! by, Bradley Grout BB2
