?'5 enior 61055 ,jwlidfory . - - On September 5, 1957, approximately sixty students entered as freshmen in a new High School building. We spread throughout different activities such as Band, Glee Club, Library Club and Staff, Handicrafts Basketball and Football Our class was l , . so arge we had to be separated. The girls homeroom teacher was Miss Searcy Our class officers lt were: Joyce Bur e, President, Jessie Rink, Vice-President, Betty Hill, Secretary, Carolyn Sherrill, Treasurerg Judy Abernethy and Eleanor Hester, Student Council Representatives. The boy's homeroom teacher was Miss Howell. Class officers were: Eli Williams, President, Allan Hart, Vice-President, Steve James, Secretary, Student Council Repre- sentatives: Charles Fambrough, Clyde Shade. Soon we were sophomores and we were very eager for school to open in September. The homeroom teachers were Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Brown. Our class officers were Joyce Burke, Steve James, Presidents, Evelyn Carlton Eli Williams Vice Presidents' R ' 1 1 ' 1 osle McClain, Treasurer, Student Council Representatives were Judy Abernathy, Dorothy Burn- arn D 'd Sl ks g er, avi ac and Clyde Shade. Our sophomore year ended with a Sophomore Ball and a class party. Returning to school on August 28, 1959, we were Juniors and our class finally were combined. The theme of our Junior-Senior Prom was Gay Paree' which was a great success under the direction of Mrs. S. K. McRae. Our class officers were Joyce Burke, President, Clyde Shade, Vice-President, Rosie McClain, Secretaryg David Slacks and Pe 885' Parks, Student Council Representatives. We still had many football players, we won the Conference Championship game. Finally the day so long awaited is here we are Seniors with an enrollment of f 1 ony' four under the supervision of Mr. T. H. Penn. One of our early events was Homecoming. Our class mate, Peggy Parks, was Miss Ridgeview. Our class motto is We Learn Today to Insure a Better Tomorrow Class officers Cl cl Sh d are: y e a e, President, Rosie McClain, Vice-President' Joyce Burke Secretary' Shir lene Roland and Thomas Propst, Student Council Representatives, David Slacks: Busi: ness Manager. This year we had the first team in the history of Ridgeview to be unscored on during the regular season. We won the District Championship game The boys who played all four years are: Richard Hodge Captain' David Slacks and Thomas Pro st Co Ca t ' , , p , - pains. Thamas Sudderth, Allan Hart, William Abernethy Jr., Joseph Collins, Robert Killian, Ar ld H no ouston, James Johnson and Steve Thompson. The basketball players were Allan Hart and James Johnson, Captains, Richard Hod e Da 'd Sl ck V' ' ' g , vi a s, mcent James. Betty Scott and Bessie Setzer were the girls Cap- rains. And now we are ready to depart from Dear Old Ridgeview. We would like to thank our principal, Mr. T. H. Broome, the faculty, our parents and friends for hel in us P 8 obtain our goal.
