P. ll. S. Questions directed to upper classmen filled the atmosphere. 4'Where's the elevator?', How do you get to the lost and found?,' 4'l'm lostlv But it wasn't long before we freshmen occupied just as prominent a place in school news and activities as the other classes. One of our classis first accomplishments was the electing of class officers. Shortly after, in December, eight vivacious girls were chosen to cheer our J. V.'s on to victory. Also in December, we presented an amateur hour as an assembly program. This was our first attempt at exhibiting our talents and our get up and gow. The first thing we knew, January and exams had approached us. Werenit we a scared little bunch? But now, after having taken eight sets of exams and thinking back to the first, they really weren't so hard at all, were they? Before we knew it, June came. Our thoughts then turned to the summer ahead of us and eventually the reopening of school in September when we could no longer be classified as the babies of the school. We were now included in most activities and school servicesAS. A. B., Hall Patrol, Quill. The highlights of our sophomore year was the ordering of our rings. 'iAcademy Awardi' was the design decided upon. What a hole that put in our pockets! Then came more studies, more dances, more exams, more vacations, more good times, more report cards, and finally September, 1951, and we were Juniors. At last we were upper-classmenl We now could direct the freshmen to the elevator and consider it legal advice. In our Junior year we were faced with the problem of making money, and fast! The Prom season wasn't far off and our treasury was in a very sad condition. Our busy salesmen put their heads together and decided to sell sweat shirts, and soda at the dances. It was a struggle, but when May 17 came, we succeeded in sponsoring a very successful prom. The gym was beautifully decorated. Flowers, masks, streamers, and other decorations decked the walls. The theme was the Mardi Gras, which set an exciting atmosphere for all those who attended. Once more June was here. This time we not only looked forward to being upper-classmeng now we were Seniors! Our senior year was off to an excellent start. As soon as the football games were under way, so were the classis salesmen at work. Candy, soda, coffee, ice 36 is tory cream, pennants, pins, and a variety of other articles were sold at the games. We just had to raise money for the Idler! The Christmas season ushered in a new campaign, Christmas cards, gift wrap- pings, and other assortments. Still funds were scarce and ,lune and graduation weren't far away! Attention was now focused on the Senior Class Dance-the Holiday Hop. The dance proved very successful, both financially and in providing a good time for all those who attended it. Of course, by this time work on the Idler was well under way. Pictures of our ufamed 537ers had been taken and several pages of the yearbook were already in the hands of the publisher. Exams once again. To many of our Seniors the results of these exams were the deciding factors in determining whether he would enter college in the following fall. The brain factories were really overworked this time! Thoughts of the students were again centered on the basketball season. How- ever, we won't brag about our basketball season! The class play, g'Our Hearts Were Young and Gayw was successfully presented on April 10 and 18. Talent that we never dreamed existed was discovered during the production of the play. Our inexperienced actors and actresses proved themselves to be not so inexperienced after all. April 27 and spring vacation. Only two more months to go. It was hard to realize that this would be our last vacation. Baseball and track seasons began. Not much more of our year remained by the time the Juniors gave us the Prom. The Prom was well attended and we'll never forget the wonderful time we had that night. June 5 wasn't far off! And that meant our last set of exams was almost upon us. Once more our conscientious students started cramming. After exams our spirits were high when we thought about our work and accomplishments fand failures, tool. Our elative spirits became more solemn on June 14 at our Baccalaureate Services. Four days later was graduation. At last our goal was reached. To some of us it was the beginning of a new life in another school. To others of us it was the completion of our education and we were now to face the business world. It was the end of a very important part in the development of our lives. It will never be easy to forget our four years together in Ridgefield Park High Sch mol. 37 CAST OF Steuard Mrs Sklnner Cornelza Otzs Sllznner Otzs Shznner Emzly Ixzmbrough Purser Steuardess Dzch Wznters Admzral Harrzet S! fohn Wznz rea' Blaugh Leo McEvoy Inspector Therese Madame Elise Monsieur De La Croz Wzndow Cleaner Student Coach The cast of Our Hearts Were Young and Cay earfs ere CHARACTERS John Phllllps Barbara Eldukot 'Xudrey ,lukofslcw Rlchard Mango Judlth Klabundy Harold Kaplan Su an Ludewslg Donald West Donald Cardlff Dorls Put che Jllflllll Campbell Vlctor Oraxelz Peggy Austm Betty Feller N1C0lC Haklln D3Xld Barden Fred Klesche 'll O -1 0 5 C CD '11 W v-1 r-Q C D 97 v-1 un O 5 lui'-un. ......
