They direct traffic and try to prevent congestion in the halls. Everyone appreciates the time they give to this fine work, and as a result they are seldom disobeyed. Each fellow leaves class at the first bell, hastens to his post, and there maintains law and order for approximately three minutes. Then he hurries to his next class, skinning in just after the late bell. Stay on the left side, dont run or yell too loud, and you'll be following the instructions of these contributors to the good citizen- ship of our school. 4' f A if FRENCH CLUB The Ifrench Club got off to a late start this year, but under the able direttion of its faculty advisor, Mrs. Strahl- endorlf, it was a good start. With inexperience reigning, the Scarlet squad managed to win only two games and tie two out of the nine games played. In spite of our poor record, Coach William I-I. Dorsey proved his ability by installing a fighting spirit in the team that remained undaunted by the numerous setbacks. The end positions were taken care of by Charles Straube, a letterman, Al Welker and jim Brady, at tackle Charles jam johnson, Al Keller, Al Bock and john Swiftg at guard, Bob Frichette, Andy Erbeck and Frank Lesnewich, at center, co-captain, john Marshall. In the backfield, co-captain joe Monaco, Vin Holland, and Art Fitzgerald held the half-back postsg Whit Conley and joe Ward alternated at full-back, and the twins, Gordon and Donald Latzko called signals from quarter-back. This backheld was 'considered to be one of the best rounded backflelds in the county. Next year the outlook is very bright. Brady, Holland, Fitzgerald, Ward and Gordon Latzko return along with excellent material built by Coach Dorsey this year. gi' C Ml? 7 illllutc ZX!! Q, -.
