Dedication As We look back, we see old Ridgefield High School, filled with laughter and spirit of it's students. Although we no longer pass through its halls or sit in its classrooms, the memories of past experiences will be unforgetable. Along with the great spirit attained in the old school is its outstanding reputation for fine scholars and credited organizations. Because of our fond feeling for a school which brought us fine educational achievements, fun, and happiness, we, the Oralue staff, dedicate the 1969 Oralue to the old Ridgefield High School. Although the squad was small because the freshmen were competing at the jr. High level for the first time, the varsity won their first track meet in two years by beating Cathlamet. Also, the team finished fourth at subdistrict and in doing so beat several teams with bigger squads. I also wish to extend individual praise to the five boys who qualified for district. They are as follows: Fred New in the 880, Rick Avery who placed fifth in the long jump, Dan jackson who placed third in the mile and gained a fourth to the state track meet in Bellingham, Bob Horal who placed fifth in the shot put, and Loren Jones in the low hurdles. Two school records were broken as Dan Jackson ran a 4:36.0 in the mile and Rick Avery leaped 20'7 1!2 in the long jump. Again, my congratulations to the entire track team for a job well done. 41 Trackmen In Action Ar 5 E ' wi A ,I E ., Rick coming down the field. Dan takes off ,4 1 ,, mn, . During the spring, the Student Council took charge of the ASB elections, sponsored the All School Dance, and formed a finance committee to revise the way in which club funds are kept. 57 x XX Q Af 1969 9 kalue Staff inf t ta W. X Editor: Linda Lenlz It is said that the World is a stage and the people merely actors upon it. As the camera of life focuses on our stage, we find in one small corner of that world another Worth-the private world at Ridgefield High. Each student on that stage is acting out a small part of his life, and our camera has captured one year of that role in pictures. For most of our actors, this year is just one more stepping stone to another grade. However, to some, the seniors-it is one of the biggest steps in life, for this is the last scene in their high school years. These actors have much for which to thank-the producers-the administration and faculty, many people have put forth their efforts to prepare these young people for the scene that lies ahead. Yes, this annual pictures a year at Ridgefield, but the camera of life will continue to focus in the future. Nevertheless, it is fortunate that die camera has recorded the following events and activities which we shall remember for many years to come. Class '72 The Freshman certainly left their mark this year. They were active in all Home- coming, Carnival, and Sweetheart activ- ities. The Class of 1972 further proved their hard-working spirit when they pro- vided decorations and ushered at Bacca- laureate. The members of the Class of 1972 may be proud of their accomplishments this year and look to greater ones in the future.
