In 1945 he graduated from Georgetown High School; and after serving his country for one and a half years as a member of the United States Army, he entered Eastern Illinois State College. He obtained his B.A. degree in 1950. For one year he taught the seventh and eighth grades and coached at Indianola Grade School. He came to Ridgefarm in 1952 and served 6 years as social science teacher and coach. In June 1958 Mr. Parke assumed the administrative duties of Ridgefarm Township High School. He attended summer schools at the University of Illinois, earning his M.A. degree in 1956. 6 MR.
