SPORTS CHEERLEADERS: Shirley Moore, Carol Sisson and JoAnn Hester PAUL WEISS A sticky fingered pass snatcher, had a fine season although he had an injured leg. DON BAIRD A shifty, sliding type of back that is hard to lay your hands on, a fine runner. FRANCIS WHEELER A mountain of strength on defense, a vicious tackier, one of the best tackles in the county. WARREN RICHARDS A real scrapper, held the middle of the Bulldog line together on defense. R.T.H.S. STOUT'S HARDWARE Ridgefarm, Illinois RON DILLMAN Ran team on offense, a real trucky ball handler, a fine passer. BRUCE McCOY A real fine defensive end, many times kniving through interference to spill a ball carrier. BOB FREEMAN Could really move 'em out of a hole on offense,' defensively was a low and hard tackier. BILL KINNEY A giant tackle, a hard man to move, tackles 'em any- where; but Moose usually gets his man. BOB JONES In his first year at center, never made a bad pass, a good line backer on defense. LETTERMEN Sponsored by THE RIDGEFARM LUMBER YARD JIM ERDMANN All-County back, a great amount of drive, on defense a very sure tackier. JERRY VOYLES A pile driving full back, he ran over tackles, a good defensive line backer. JIM NICHOLS Made up lack of weight in spirit, opened big holes in offense, a fine line backer on defense. COACH PARKE Head Coach Juby Parke in his first year at Ridgefarm has done a wonderful job. He picked up a team that in previous years had been a hapless, unspirited bunch and made them into a hard-fighting, hard blocking, hard running team. The squad began to train, a reverse of what the Bulldogs usually did. LETTERMEI Sponsored by THE FEDERAL-NORTH IOWA GRAIN TERRY GILES A substitute end with a lot of possibilities, a good tackier with a lot of spirit. BOB THORNTON Improved greatly this season, a hard worker, learning to tackle effectively. The fans for the first time in a long time were solidly behind the team, win, lose or draw. They liked the style of wide open foot- ball and they really followed the team. Although the won and lost record wasn't too impressive, the Bull- dogs were in at least every ga ne, and they were respected by every opponent. CO. - Ridgefarm, III. BOB RIDGON Did a wonderful job as a freshman and could catch a pass anywhere, and has great possibilities. ' -v- ’' FIRST ROW: J. Johnson, D. Massey, D. Sisson, W. Williams, L. Rodgers, K. KNEELING: Danny Massey, Dave Sisson, Wayne Williams, Merrill Freeman. The B team had a very successful season. The Junior Bulldogs won 15 and lost 4. They played consistently all season and showed a great amount of promise. B TEAM IN ACTION COACH AND ASSISTANTS The Bulldogs, under the capable coaching of Errett Warner and assistants, Juby Parke and Stephen Cross, had a busy season. Playing in the new spacious gym, the Bulldogs always showed a great amount of spirit. Ridgefarm was short on experience and none of the first five were six feet tall. But they worked hard and developed splendidly. The Bulldogs had a season record of 10-14. Many of these loss- es were very close games. High-light of the season was Ridgefarm's winning of third place in the Sidell Tournament. The Bulldogs upset a highly retarded and heavily favored Longview team to win the trophy. The week after the Sidell Tourney, the Bulldogs pulled the up- set of the county as they beat Oakwood 42-41, and Oakwood went on to the finals of the county tourney. The final game of the season, played during the District tour- ney, was undoubtedly one of Ridgefarm's best. The Bulldogs play- ed toprated Ogden, a team which had beaten them 15 points earlier in the season. Both teams played great ball. Neither could get a good lead on the other. Finally it came to the last 30 seconds with Ridgefarm leading 40-39. Ogden hit a long shot, winning the game. Thus the whole team will be back next year. Two lettermen return to lead the underclassmen. They are Jim Erd- mann and Jerry Voyles. Although Jim is 5'6 himself, he has high-jump- ed 5'5 .
