MEYER, EXCLUSIVE SHOES 19 North Vermilion Street Danville, Ill. ft Q n g . . 4 STUDENT 1. Boys will be boys! At times just a little more so than others. Here's the proof. lt seems that somehow whitewash was spilled on the side steps of the school after the snake dance for Homecoming. These three boys were part of the volunteer scrub team who helped restore the school steps to their original appear- ance. 2. Here are the people responsible for the success of the Homecoming Dance. Their work begins weeks before the dance. Arrangements have to be made for the orchestra and committees appointed for decorating and the parade. Posters are made and programs designed. They very cheerfully get the job done with the help of drafted students. 3. What are they doing in the office? It's not what you think! They happen to be the office helpers who take over when Mrs. Brown leaves at noon. They are on hand to greet salesmen and answer the telephone. Another of their jobs is to do such odd jobs as typing eligibility sheets for the ball games. 4. The magazine racks are well filled and very useful. The school subscribes to forty magazines and receives thirty-nine more as contributions. The magazines cover all the various departments taught in school. The majority of them are con- cerned with home economics and agriculture. Many of the ag magazines were moved from the ag room this year to the study hall. The added magazines required a new rack which was made by the ag boys and the materials provided by the school board. The students also have access to one daily and three weekly newspapers. Compliments of DODSON SEED STORE 202-206 West Main Street Danville, Illinois 20 Both the magazines and newspapers are received and used with the idea of supplementing textbook work They prove very helpful as sources of information in research work and reports on current topics. The library staff of the Ridgefarm Township High School totals sixteen this year. They are under the direction of Miss Rosaline Fullerton who is assisted by Jean Kennerly as librarian secretary. There is a regular librarian for each period of the day and also an assistant. The regular and assistant librarians al- ternate positions each six weeks. Many improvements have been made in this sec- tion. Besides the addition of many new books a file cabinet has been placed in the library. It is used for the filing of pamphlets. Before any new material is added to the shelves it goes to the library work room. Here it is processed or labeled, shellacked, stamped, and catalogued. The team played only a few bad games but got nosed out of a few. Then in the Sidell tournament powerful Homer downed the Bulldogs by 16 points and in the loser game Longview slipped past them by 7 points. Tough luck in the Sidell tourney. The very next week Ridgefarrn pulled one of their surprising upsets by downing Sidell. In the county tourney Al- lerton pushed past R. T. H. S. to count them out of that competition.
