Hunting was an activity that was a necessity rather than a pastime. The educational advantages con- sisted of a one-room school, perhaps many miles from their homes, only opened during a small portion of the year because means of transportation made it impossible to attend during inclement weather. Today we are able to particpate in many activi- ties. Social gatherings and school activities are held and clubs are established, all of which give us the op- portunity to broaden our lives. Participation in school activities gives one the opportunity to develop leaders ship and initiative, and to cooperate with fellow pupils The enjoyment alone which may be derived from participa- tion in any activity is enough to pay for the time and effort put forth for it is the pathway to a profitable future.
