GIRLS' BASKETBALL X! FIRST ROW: Betty Gillespie, Lois Fisher. SECOND ROW: Louise McGannon, Ann Flaherty, Captain, Katheryn Prior, Edith Walser. THIRD ROW: Mr. Leonard, Lois Uncapher, Elnora Shivley Evelyn Engle, Ladora Shivley, Helen Shivley, Mr. Moser Everyone will have to admit that Ridge had a good girls' team who gave the fans exciting, thrilling, and hilarious entertainment. Again they ranked third in thc county,winning all their games but two which were the games played with Ohio City and Hoaglin-Jackson. The girls not only played admirably but shone adorably in their new satin attire. Even though they did not reach the peak in the league as champions, they helped our school to a great extent in the winning of the sportsmanship trophy, the third year in succession, which is a much more honor- able award. Take this tip, everyone. It pays to be clean, fair and square players. We hope the team does as well in the future al- though it loses four senior players, Ann Flaherty, Ed? ith Walser, Katheryn Prior, and Lois Uncapher. We sin- cerely hope these girls, also the remaining seniors will continue their fair and square plays in the life which they are about to enter, ignorant of life's ruts and jolts. Also, we honor the underclassmen participating this year and sincerely desire to have them continue to preserve the honorable name the Ridge basketball girls have established for themselves as well as for the school. The entire team is to be commended.
