SOPHOMORE CLASS Traveling along in our high school career we have found that there are many rough and winding paths to be trodden before we reach our goals. We have in mind goals which we hope to attain in the near future and are buil- ding while in high school a good foundation for our lifes work so we may be better fitted for it. Lois Fisher, Lois Gillespie,Lucille Shively, Elnora Shivley, and Louise McGannon wish to enter into the bead ty culture professiong Richard Duprey hopes to become a successful Angus breeder and also a kind, loving husbandg Dick Weigle will settle down upon a farm and become a hy- brid corn breeder and also a livestock farmerg Lois Jean Davies is preparing herself to become a teacher and we know she will be a success for her past records show ex- cellent school work which she can pass on to othersgwdph Tribolet is looking forward to being an electrical engin eerg Helen Drake wants to be a secretary in a large firm Harold Holland wishes to become a transport pilotg Jean- nette Stemen hopes to be known as a famous journalist, Willis Palmer wants to enter sports and become a coachg Herbert Siders and Byron McCoy are planning to take up radio for their workg Mary Dunifon will be a teacher of piano lessonsg Gene Thurston is to become a truck driver and then settle down upon a farmgGeneva Etgen hsplanning to be a dietitiang Gaynord Snyder is to enter into radio broadcasting or the moviesg and Billie Eaken hopes to be a successful farmer. At the opening of this school year we decided to make our sophomore year one of our most profitable years in high school. Our decision was not in vain for many achievements were made by our classmates. Students receiving awards are: Lois Jean Davies, first in English in county elimination contestg Billie Eaken, Moser trophy and F. F. A. athletic awardg Richard Duprey, F. F. A. activities award and extemporaneoum speakingg Harold Holland, F. F. A. scholarship awardgday' nord Snyder,second place in potato judging at Ohio Suit Universityg and Richard Weigle, third place in pest Lwu. The sophomore boys' basketball squad won the intramural tournament which shows there is much athletic ability. With two more years ahead of us we should attain a high ranking if we continue to improve as in the past. Our social events of the year consisted of a very successful skating party on November SO, a Christmas ex- change party at Richard Duprey's home on December 22,and a spring party on April 28'at the schoolhouse. The class officers are Byron McCoy,PresidentgWillis Palmer, Vice-presidentg Lois Fisher, Secretary,Gene Thup ston, Treasurerg and Mary Dunifon, Reporter. Elnora Shivley and Helen Drake enrolled in our class this year makigg the enrollment twenty.
