ssmon cLAss HISTORY FRESHMAN YEAR: In the fall Of 1954 eighteen freshr men entered Ridge High School. The courses of agricul- ture, commercial, and college preparatory were well rep- resented. At the close of the school year we were very proud of Edith Walser who received first in the Latin I elimination test. SOPHOMOHE YEAR: At the beginning of the sophomore year the class had decreased by several. We were very glad to be able to elect officers which we carried out in parlimentary procedure. Milford Holland was elected president, with Miss Jones acting as class adviser. Our year was climaxed with a bunco party in May at the home of Evelyn Engle. JUNIOR YEAR: The junior year held more in store for us and it was a very interesting year. The follow- ing officers were elected: Milford Holland,Prsidentg Pauline Haines, Vice-presidentg and Erma Tribclet, Sec- retary-Treasurerg with Miss Englehard as class adviser. In October we were entertained with a Hallow'en party at the home of Helen E. Boyd. Games and a treasure hunt made a most enjoyable evening. HMiss Adventureu, the class play, was presented to a large audience on November 7. In the elimination test Pauline Haines won second in biology. SENIOR YEAR: In September, l937,dH1teen students were proud to be called seniors. To the girls' disap- pointment, though, it was the same small number of two boys. The class officers elected were: Charles Knit- tle, President, Pauline Haines, Vice-presidentg Evelyn Engle, Secretary-Treasurerg Edith Walser, Class Repor- ter, with Mr. Moser serving as adviser. In November we entertained the juniors with a par ty at the schoolhouse. nMama's Baby Boyn gave us our last opportunity to perform before our classmates. In the play we so obviously forgot our roles as seniors that it was hard to picture our solemn group a few weeks later receiving our diplomas. We were pleasant- ly entertained by the Juniors on May I5 at the Junior- Senior Prom, a gala affair for all. The senior girls won the intermural trophy for four years and now the names are enscribed on it and it is truly ours. Ann Flaherty was girls' basketball captain and was also a peony queen candidate. Charles Knittle was boys' basketball captain and also had the honor of having his idea published in the UNew Idean farm magazine. The baccalaureate was given on May 22 with Rever- end Snyder of St. Marks Lutheran Church as the speaken For commencement on May 25, Paul Barrett, was speaker. The finale was a trip to Put-in-Bay.
