When Professor Dowd called a Tew CaTholics TogeTher in I938, TrenTon's TirsT Newman Club Took shape. A year laTer Miss Julie T-linch joined The TaculTy and managed To gaTher abouT one hundred Rider CaTholics TogeTher Tor a Communion BreakTasT. The Diocesan oTTicials, impressed by This demonsTraTion oT TaiTh, appoinTed a chaplain To The group shorTly ThereaTTer. FaTher Daniel Sullivan served as chaplain To The club during iTs early years and aTTer his appo'inTmenT as a pasTor ouT oi This disTricT, FaTher John Endebrock, presenl' chaplain, replaced him. Miss l-linch remained as TaculTy advisor unTil I947, when she enTered The CommuniTy of The SisTers oT lmmaculaTe T-learT oT Mary.
