PHI SIGMA U Phi Sigma Nu sTarTed The ball rolling in The spring oT I949 wiTh Their Annual Spring Dance held aT Green Acres CounTry Club. There were approximaTely one hundred and TwenTy who aTTended The successful evenT. The Clambalce, which was held aT The lTalian-American- SporTsman Club in AugusT, also proved a greaf success. The acTive members Trounced The Alumni in a game of sofTball. ln OcTober, The firsf house parfy was aTTended by many acfive members as well as alumni, who crowded inTo The ChapTer l-louse, and danced To The music of ArTie's QuarTeT. A successful rush season ended wiTh The Smoker affended by a selecT group. During The half of The Monfclair-Rider baslcefball game, The pledgees staged a hilarious beaufy conTesT, donned in l9I5 beachwear. Miss Beffy Jane Crowley, Miss New Jersey of I949, was judge and her selecTion for queen was Bernie Tigue. The lniliary Formal held in February broughf ouT fifTy alumni members. As was The Cusfom, There was a beer parTy The evening before The dance, and old Timers chaffed wiTh The new members abouT Their rough Times while They had pledged. Phi Sigma Nu Took Top honors in The inTra-mural fooTball league and also copped The play-oTf championship. In baslceTbail, Phi Sigma Nu wiTh many players refurning from The previous year won The Saber League TournamenT. WiTh a whole new array of new brofhers and members of lasT year's championship sofTball Team, Phi Sigma are looking forward To a successful season This year. The fuTure is a brighT one for The Phi Sigma Nu members, and They inTend To achieve even greaTer goals in The years ahead.

During The summer The house received a new coaT OT painT, and The complelsion oT a new cellar was The achievemenT oT many hard working broThers. The annual summer Tormal was held aT The RiverTon CounTry Club on AugusT 6, I949. Kappa Phi sTarTed The new school year wiTh The annual Buddy Tormal held aT Greenacres CounTry Club, on November 4, l949. The Tall rush-season saw I5 men pledge Tor The TraTerniTy, and over 200 people aTTended The lniTiaTory Formal on January 28, l95O, aT Jack Fowlers To congraTulaTe The 64 new members. AThleTically The TraTerniTy compeTed in all phases oT sporTs, placing eighT men on The Rider TooTball Team. We are also proud OT The TacT ThaT Two broThers made Whos Who in American Colleges and UniversiTies. Kappa Phi is looking Torward inTo The TuTure wiTh high hopes oT Things beTTer To come.
