ROUNDUP WEEK CLIM ED BY CROWNING Mr. Donald B. Cowan Woundup Week, a traditional activity at Rider, was celebrated Oct. 17-21. During this special week, students dressed in western wear to promote spirit and to form a sense of unity. In the annual Roundup Assembly, nominees for Mr. and Miss Raider were presented to the student body in a skit. Climaxing the assembly, the senior class, represented by Hal Ray, president, honored Mr. Donald B. Cowan by declaring him honorary Mr. Raider. He has displayed his loyalty to Rider throughout the years in many ways. He wrote the words and music of the alma mater and has been the master of ceremonies of the pep rallies for the last 17 years, having missed only two. Mr. Cowan has announced the Raiders' home football games for the past six years. He is also director of a cappella, Cadet and Girls Choirs. The highlight of the week was the crowning with the traditional black hats of David Molinaro and Staci Wages as Mr. and Miss Raider at the Roundup dance. David and Staci were elected by the student body as the couple who best represented spirit and friendliness, the qualities of a true Raider. -YA ,,. -.
