Scholars Of RHS The Riddle Chapter of National Honor Society is one of the highest honors anyone at Riddle High School can receive. This year six members were inducted. These people were Tim Wilborn, Howard Lunderstadt, John Robbins. Sheryl Barnes. Jill Juhl and Bobby Creech. These people were inducted at Paul’s Hong Kong Restaurant in Grants Pass. The Honor Society was active this year by visiting the Oregon State University campus, attending a play at UCC, and viewing the Douglas County Museum Also, the Honor Society had a couple o money-making projects to help pay for the induction banquet. 1. Gaby Mejia taps in Howard Lunderstadt before the school. 2. Darla Schofield reads the minutes as Nena Bryant listens intently. 3. Melinda Block leads the members in a discussion. 4. During the course of the year DECA students attended two conferences. The Fall Leadership Conference was held at Linn-Benton Community College. It was designed to help students prepare for State competition in late March. The State Career Development Conference was held at the Red Lion at Janzten Beach. Here the students competed in events where they used the knowledge they had gained at Fall Leadership and through many hard hours of studying. The students made a good showing by bringing home 15 awards. Chris Galloway and Nora Cunliff qualified for national competition in Miami, Florida, by placing in the top two of their respective events. 1. Paula Burke receives the Truckin' Award at the Fall Leadership Conference from State Parliamentarian Chris Galloway. The Truckin’ Award is given to the chapter that brings the most members times the amount of miles to the Conference. 2. Rachel Riekeman, Brenda Cooper, Sheila Hitchman, and Karen Wooden wait to receive the S.T.E.M. awards. Shoplifters Take Everybody’s Money is an antishoplifting campaign given to 5th graders and the results were put into manual form and entered into competition. 3. Nora Cunliff walks off the victory stand with a first place trophy for her 40-page manual on San Francisco Riding Gear in Apparel and Accessories. 4. Mrs. Chapman and John Flannigan receive the 2nd place Chapter of the Year trophy. 5. Chris Galloway stands on the victory platform after she received her second place trophy in Finance and Credit Competency Based.

— 3MIIIE ILUB SERVICE CLUB The Service Club members donate their time to helping our community. Some of the activities they take part in are: babysitting at various meetings, working at the Bloodmobile, sponsoring Kiddie Films, and donating monies to worthy organizations. 1. Big Little Brother Sister A new program aimed at bridging the gap between junior high and high school was established this year at RHS called Big- Little Brother or Sister Program. Those interested high school students volunteered to work with junior high students to introduce them to the facilities, rules, and students of the High School. 1.
