The Riddle Drill Team 79-80 The 1979 drill team was started by Mr. Bruce Nutson. The team includes 12 members, who perform dance routines during halftime of football and basketball games to entertain the crowds. The girls had to practice several hours each week in order to prepare and learn their routines. Their first performance was for the Homecoming game. The original team remained the same except for Caron Michaels, Tammi Schofield, and Teresa Miller. They were replaced by Sheila Hitchman, Stormy Hayter, and Paula Burke for basketball season. Mr. Nutson feels that for the first year it went quite well. Special thanks to Mrs. Cantrell, Mrs. Nutson, and Mrs. Wooden for staying up those long hours getting the uniforms made in time for the Homecoming game. Thank you to everyone who made the drill team possible. 1 1. At halftime of the Homecoming game the team lined up on the field to show their stuff. 2. No one seems worried as they march on to the field to perform for the first time. 3. Four of the girls smile as they kick to the sounds of “Vegas.” 4. The basketball drill team consisted of first row from left to right: Karen Wooden, Sheryl Barnes, Paula Burke, Velma Hollopeter, Sheila Hitchman, and Chani Mitchell. Second row: Judy Cantrell, Catrina Clendenin, Kari Zenchenko, Helen Redlingshafer, Stormy Hayter, and Teena Creech.
