During time she was our school librarian, and the annual advisor. Mrs. Gaedecke spent a less number of hours getting the annual page organized to send into the company to meet deadlines. We love you a lot! Dedication 3 MR. SAYRE Schools and young people have been a way of life with me for four decades. I have come to see in that time that school is more than a place for young people to learn skills and facts, although it certainly is that. No, school is a place for acquiring behavior they do not have---and for the better. My very best to each one of you. Mr. Sayre 4 Intro 5 PRAY FOR YOU . . On Thursday November 10, 1977, the Senior Class .met in Richards parking lot, at 8 a.m. The dress was warm, and the topic was a trip to Diamond Lake. Everyone who could drive a car loaded up, and headed for Diamond Lake. When we all met at die Lodge parking lot, it was noticed hat not only the Senior Class decided to join the event. Anyway, everyone pitched in a dollar in order to rent a cabin. Some people took off for the snow right away, which was about 10 miles further up the road. They tied inner tubes to the back of Rick's truck, and he pulled them through the snow. Even though they got soaked in the process, the fun was well worth it. Meanwhile, the rest stayed back at the cabin and sat around and talked, while watching the excitement, which was probably just as much fun as playing the snow. When 4:00 came around, most packed up and headed for Riddle, but a few stayed behind and cooked hot dogs, and later headed for home. A couple even stayed the night beings the cabin was paid for. Fall 41 The Irish ended their season with a 1-5 league record and a 4-5 season record. At the beginning of the season the Irish were high in numbers and spirit, but as the games rolled along the numbers decreased as players were injured. The team stayed tough as many players saw action in new positions and gained experience that will benefit them in future years. Riddle students backed the Irish throughout the season with much spirit and enthusiasm. Homecoming week brought on the most spirit and the Irish came through defeating Oakland 14-0. Still our spirits soared and spectator buses were sent to every away game full of screaming fans ready to watch the Irish 'play ball.' 1. Elvis Presley, King of Rock n Roll, was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. Elvis first began singing in church, where he sang the Gospel songs his friends and family loved, and later became a part of a popular trio. In 1953, Elvis decided to do something special for his mother's birthday, so went to the Sun Record Company in Memphis and paid $4.00 to cut a record called 'That's All Right Mama. Sam Phillips, the President of Sun Records, heard Elvis singing, and thought he might have possibilities, but Elvis never heard from him for over a year. Then one day Sam called, and asked him to cut the same song, only backed by the Blue Moon of Kentucky. The record was released in the summer of 1954, and was a success overnight. Within a week 7,000 copies were sold in Memphis alone. After that success just went higher and higher for Elvis. Then in August of 1977, it ended, the King was dead. The whole world was shocked, and immediately Elvis Presley albums were sold out in stores everywhere. No one will ever forget the man who started it all! 2.
