In one of the national school assemblies Phyllis Ingwerson is shown carrying a small boa constrictor. Mr. Beecher, the speaker, said of the snakes, They can exceed twenty-five feet here in America. In Brazil, boas are about ten to twelve feet long when fully grown. He went on to say that These snakes can squeeze a man or horse to death. 10
