With many signs put up for Homecoming, the Sophomores used this one to show their spirit for the week. In one of the national school assemblies Phyllis Ingwerson is shown carrying a small boa constrictor. Mr. Beecher, the speaker, said of the snakes, They can exceed twenty-five feet here in America. In Brazil, boas are about ten to twelve feet long when fully grown. He went on to say that These snakes can squeeze a man or horse to death. 10

This was during a co-ed physical education class in which the group was playing flash football. Here the quarterback rotated each time the ball was downed.
