Jr. Optimists' Have Outstanding First Year The tirst year tor the Jr. Optimist proved to be an organized and prosperous one. lt consists ot boys in the ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade and is sponsored by the Sunrise Optimist Club. Their president, senior Eddie Bales, led the club in three main types of money making projects, dough- nut sales, a dance, and selling Christmas trees. A tradition which will be passed dovvn each year is awarding a SlOO scholarship to an outstanding senior. From the proceeds ot a doughnut sale the Jr. Optimist's were able to make a contribution to the Peace Corps proiect. For the children at Sunland Hospital they gave a Christmas party. They were also active around school improving the appearance and attitudes.
