Everyone seemed to know where to go but us. As Sophomores we began to take part in some of the extracurricular activities. We also held a dance to raise money for our senior trip. We began to realize that we had to work together as a class to achieve this goal. The following year we were Juniors. This was the busiest of our high school years. We had to order class rings, collect stamps, serve dinners, and hold dances. In all of this rush and confusion we found time to present Mumbo-Jumbo, directed by Mrs. Dilger. We also made plans and decorations for the Junior-Senior Banquet which was held in the elementary school cafeteria on May 3. Before we knew it, we were Seniors. We served dinners, collected stamps, held dances, and ran the basketball concession stand. We presented a second comedy, Once in Every Family, directed by Mr. Cochran. We ended our high school career with the Junior-Senior Banquet, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. On June 1, we left for Washington D.C., the last time we were together as a class. 10 DAVID BLUE Chorus...........................2,3 F.F.A..............................1 Library..........................1,2 Scholarship Team...................4 Senior Play P.E........................ 1,2,3,4 ROSEMARY COLEGROVE Band......................1,2,3,4 Chorus.........................1,2,4 Spanish Club.....................3,4 Honor Society................... 3,4 Scholarship Team...................1 Annual Staff.....................3,4 Dance Band.........................4 Senior Play P.E........................ 1.2,3,4 Queen's Attendant JEANNE CHAPMAN Band........................1,2.3,4 Chorus....................1,2,3,4 F.H.A.....................1,2,3,4 Honor Society....................3.4 Scholarship Team...................3 Senior Play P.E........................1,2,3,4 EDDIE CRAMER F.F.A.....................1.2,3,4 Basketball........................1 Office Boy . . ...................1 P.E......................1,2,3,4 ROLAND CICANESE Carding ton High School . . . .1,2,3 Band................................4 Track...............................4 Chorus..............................4 Honor Society.......................4 Scholarship Team....................4 Senior Play GERALDINE EVANS Band...................... The first half of the year went on as usual. The only activity we had was present- ing our class play We Were Young That Year. After Christmas we finally got to order our class rings. Then the activities began to pile up. We had a dance, collected tax stamps, served a Lions' Club Ladies' Night, and worked on the banquet. Of course, the biggest night of the year was May 9, the Junior-Senior Banquet. Our class was led very well through the year by Don Wasserbeck, President; David Britenstein, Vice-President; Gary Anderson, Secretary; and Ann Perkins, Treasurer. 19 We had representatives in all of the school activities. WOOD 22 Oophomores Our sophomore class began a hard struggle this year with our academic courses. Many of us took five subjects, including geometry, Spanish, and world history. But we fought the battle of homework with the lights burning brightly each night. At the start of the year we elected Carl McCleese as our President. He was as- sisted by Bob Hill, Vice-President, and Carol Cochran, Secretary-Treasurer. Our class ended the year with a Last Fling dance, which was promoted by each member of the class. Class members did a fine job on their different committees to make the dance a success. We are looking forward to our junior year and hope to achieve much more to add to this year's progress. 23 24 S. ADAMS F. ALLGOWER N. ALUNDER C. BARRY P. BERNHARD M. BEVIS J. BOYD S. BROWN C. For our class officers this year, we elected Ronnie Bond, President; Raymond Yearsley, Vice-President; and Connie Roberts, Secretary-Treasurer. The seventy-eight students of our class were also represented in such extra- curricular activities as, athletics, cheerleading, girls' chorus, band, F.F.A. and F.H.A. 27 R. BLUE J. BLUE R. BOND J. K 0 70 If one organization could be chosen that represents the scholastic and academic achievement of Richwood High School, it would be the Richwood Chapter of the National Honor Society. The local chapter was organized in 1951, and since that time seventy- two members have been inducted. This year, eleven juniors and one senior were select- ed for membership in a special Tapping Ceremony held in the high school auditorium. Any student who has a B average or better is eligible for membership. He is then considered by the entire faculty on the basis of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Members of this elite organization may indeed be proud because they re- ceived the highest honors awarded at Richwood High. 34 . K M. The officers for 1957-1958 were: President, Linda Chapman; Vice-President, Ruth Styer; Secretary, Judy Pfarr; Treasurer, Jeanne Chapman; News Reporter, Betty Fausnaugh; Parliamentarian, Charlotte Hamilton; Scrapbook, Evelyn Oberdier. The money-making activity for the year was an F.H.A. Dance. The most important activity of the year was the Mother-Daughter Banquet. A buffet supper was enjoyed, followed by a style show, in which each F.H.A. member modeled her garment made in home economics. The last project of the year was a get-acquainted party for the eighth grade girls who will be in home economics next year. 35 5F.ar.3i The Future Farmers of America is a national organization of boys studying vocational agriculture in high school. It is an educational, non-profit, non-political organization of volunteer members. The Richwood Chapter of the F.F.A. has been a part of the national organization since 1938. Mr. Leo Schmidt was chapter advisor this year. Activities for the year included; judging contest, F.F.A. banquet, and Union County Bowling League. 36 Spanish (3 ai) The Spanish Club of Richwood High School had another successful and fun-filled year. The club, headed by Mr. Henry Schrager, was organized last year to give all Spanish students an opportunity to get together and practice their language. This year the officers were: Olan Love, President; Carol Cochran, Vice-President; Rosemary Colegrove, Secretary; Kay McDaniels, Treasurer; Charlotte Shields, Reporter. A dance was held to raise money for their annual banquet which was held May 16, in the cafeteria. 37 V . . M Lr , f •- •. . Hit hard by graduation, the Tiger squad was slow and inexperienced, and this showed in the won-lost record.
