This was a lot less than when we had entered as freshmen three years ago. We had our customary first class meeting and selected the persons who were supposed to be our leaders during the year. For President, we selected Gene Dilger; for Vice-President, Ronald Monroe, for Secretary, Kay Fausnaugh, and as Treasurer, we elected Gladys Wilson. We engaged in the normal Jr. activities and school work. We had bake sales, served dinners, and presented the Junior Play MUMBO-JUMBO. One of our best projects was serving lunch for the Teachers of Union County when they had their all-day meeting in Richwood. The highlight of our year was the Junior-Senior Banquet in the Richwood Cafeteria . We were represented on the athletic teams in school, but not as well as we might have been. We had boys take part in football, basketball and track. Also, a large number of our boys and girls belonged to the F.F.A. and F.H.A. respectively. We are looking forward to next year when we hope we will all be Seniors. 21 RICHARD RUSH JEANNE CHAPMAN BRENDA CRAMER BARBARA FIELDS 22 MARILYN MOHRMAN JUDY PFARR ED PACHA PATTY NEWMAN JUDY PARISH CORA RAY 23 DON PITTMAN MARY ANN STYER RUSSELL WHEELER NO PICTURE AVAILABLE EDWIN WHEELER Bill Bumgarner Pat Hartman Gunther Guecklng Anna May Yearsley 24 Sophomore Class Officers DON WASSERBECK President LANA SUE BEVIS Secretary DON WHEELER Vice-President STEVE ROBINSON Treasurer Class History .,,Dur, n9 our SoPhomore year we found it much easier to get around and get along with other people than we did as Freshmen. We had some new students in the Freshman class from Jackson School. They had a harder time than the ones who were used to the building. The things that baffled us most were the new teachers and changing classes. Sixty-two persons entered the class in September and at their first class meeting elected Jon Davis as President, Betty Pritchard as Vice-President, Betty Fausnaugh as Secretary and Mary Jo Bevis as Treasurer. Soon we had members of our class tak- ing part in the many activities that go on around a High School. There was Football, Basketball, Track, F .F .A. , F .H.A. , Band and Chorus. Four of our girls were select- ed as cheerleaders to cheer at Reserve games and one as a Varsity Cheerleader. Four Freshmen also represented Richwood High School on the Scholarship Team. We feel that our first year in High School has been very rewarding and that we are successfully on our way to I960. 31 32 LeROY HARMON SHIRLEY WEBB NANCY FIELDS 33 JOHNNIE JOHNSON PAUL KENDRA SHARON FIELDS STEPHEN KNAUL JOY HAMILTON MIKE MOORE LINDA HENRY FREDA FOOS LEWIS McCLOUD JACKIE HENDRICKSON MARSHA WARYE 34 DONALD OBERDIER RONNIE REECE TUAN ITA JIVIDEN KATHRYN KATER NANCY McBRIDE DEAN RETTERER CONNIE JORDAN 35 JOHN SMITH LINDA SHOUP JIMMY STEELE JUDY REIDENBAUGH CAROLYN MAJOR GARY VAN WINKLE BEVERLY MARINE ELIZABETH PARISH PATSY PERDUE BETTY PFLIEDER BETTY STOCKWELL UNDA ROGERS 36 Junior High Eighth Grade LEFT TO RIGHT: R. They started rather late in football, but at the end of the season were coming along real well. They played football games with the closer teams such as Marysville, St. Mary and Cardington. Basketball was their biggest success as they finished up the season with a 7-won and 3-lost record. They ran out of gas in the County Tourney at Marysville and were upset badly by Jerome Millcreek. They had entered the tourney as Co-Favorites. Weather hampered their track sea- son just as it did for the varsity. They had two meets; one with Prospect and one with Mt. Gilead. All of this athletic activity gave a large number of boys a chance to compete and perhaps help to pave the way for future Varsity contenders. 40 Squad FIRST ROW: Left to Right; Pat Hartman, M. For the first time in a number of years the Band was under the direction of a new Director, Mr. Ernest Wolfle, Jr. The band performed a variety of half- time shows at all the football games, both at home and away. They also marched in the Christmas Parade at Marion and in the Memorial Day Parade in Richwood. They are also scheduled to march in a Fourth of July Parade in Columbus. The band entered the band contest at Piqua where they competed against other bands. The above picture had to be taken inside because of rain. R. H. S. Majorettes LEFT TO RIGHT: Janet Retterer.
