Paradise Alley 7'h.rce cheers for Paradise A lley.' Where learning and laughter com,lnfne,' Of all the halls in our college, 7'here's none quite so festive and fine. Three grare and dignlhed seniors Give the tone to our Alley, yoa see, Annie Laurie, and U ldine and Birdie, All Bachelor Maids of degree. And for noise, there're pianos, and peddlers Of cuffs, collars and cake, And eat-fights and rat-fights and revels, Which oft limes the wild echoes wake. Then, for sunshine, there's Pagey, the merry, And M ildred's a regular cook: A nd tho' not Gold Dust, yet Mary and Marion Are twins like those in a book. We have, too, a society lady Who deigns our dear Alley to grace, Miss Hackney, a belle and a tar-heel, With a trunk full of satin and lace. Nor must we forget little M ary, l7'he Marys are four, in this l.'all,j Who's kind and obliging and helpfalg Erer ready to answer a call. A nd I fldlne, the stialious and quiet, As dernware and sweet as a nwn: Oh! we have quality up on our alley, And something new under the san. For we'ee a Belle that's nerer for ringing, And a Page that's never Zarned down, A ante Laurie that 'newer saw Scotland-- Thoztgh as fair as she of renown: Wehve a Payne that's always a pleasure And a Taylor that makes not a coat, A Saddler that never sewed leather, A nd a Birdie that sings not a note. We once had a dear little Chappell , Hut it was moved to another floor- We still miss and love our dear Chappell , But perhaps they needed it more.
