How far away it seemed in 1944 when Mr. Kanwit welcomed you to Annex 56 of Richmond Hill! Then you were Freshmen, eager for the new experience of high school. Now you are Seniors, enjoying all the last-term whirl of senior activities and again eagerly plan- ning for your next step. T During these busy high school years. world events have inllu- enced your life. Your country was at war. There was the unrest and nervous tension felt as brothers. fathers. and friends were away from home. Getting an education was rightly your first consideration. and now you are candidates for your high school diploma. It is greatly to your credit that you have persevered in spite of temptation to leave for temporary gain. You have succeeded in completing your course. 2515 of the class with an average of HOW or over. At tl1e surrender of Japan. joyfully we welcomed the prospect of peace throughout the worldg but progress toward that goal has been slow. Even now. you find your- selves graduating into a world still struggling to solve the many problems resulting from those years of war. How fortunate you are that you have been privileged in Hiclimond Hill through your clubs. your sports. and your classroom activities to gain experience in working together. learning to cooperate for the good of the group as a xxholel Respect the convictions of others while you seek for the truth. Your enthusiasm has made my association with you interesting and enjoyable. There are great opportunities for useful service awaiting you and much need for the Une contributions you are capable of making. All good wishes for your successl Sincerely. - ' QL CMQLQ-vo .gjenior C6154 fcem l'lC'l'lfR Wllli.-XXI lfl.XlNlf l'HYi.l.l5V .l0YfIl'i if-XH'l'WRlGH'l' UFSH' HKSS IIUTHNI KN .l Kl'l'l'. l're-siilent Tice-l'resident Secretary ri-I'f'LlSllI'1'I' llU'l'llilN' 5
