The colorbearers at our assemblies are seen on the opposite page, wearing the uniforms of :Xmerican Nautical Cadets. liven before Pearl Harbor, the Red Cross llnit in the school was func- tioning. lts purpose is to provide clothing for l'furope's children, and also for Richmond Hill students in case of an emergency here. About hfteen girls stay each day to make these clothes. They are shown at work in the picture on this page. Mrs. Hortense l'artridge is in charge of the unit. Different teachers supervise each afternoon. Both teachers and students have attended First :Xid courses after school. .Npproximately thirty students and sixty teachers have earned certificates. The war has also affected the Curriculum. Several courses have been added to prepare boys to enter war industries after graduation. First :Xid has been included in the work of all hygiene classes. ' Offering Hillites the opportunity to combine pleasure and patriotism, the Spanish Club held a Victory Dance on Friday, March 20. Profits totaled 51547 and were used to buy a War Bond.
