Sophomores and Freshmen are reluctant for the Rock to depart from its 32 year-old home. , The Rock, which has rested on the front lawn of Richmond Union High School since 1935, was moved to the South Campus November 9, 1967. This historical monument was donated by the Classes of December, 1933; June, 1934; January, 1935; and June, 1935. The Senior Bench, which was situated since 1936 between the history and Print Shop buildings, was also moved November, 1967. It now resides between the canteen and the Adult Education office on the South Campus. This familiar campus landmark was donated by the June Class of 1936. Mike Criddle, Sophomore Class Vice President, presents speech at Rock Ceremony. The Rock prepares for its departure from the old citadel to its new temporary site. Thanks to the services of the Rosendal and Western Transportation Companies, the rock and bench were moved to the South Campus. The empty cavity where the rock once Students gather to welcome the Rock’s arrival at the MacDonald Avenue Campus
