ACTIVITIES sponsored and paid for by 'Phe Senior Class, was held in +he Spring of I929. Prior io 'rhis, 'there had been Junior-Senior Banquefs, which origina+ed in l9l7. The climax of 'fhe Senior year, 'rhe Senior Ball, surprisingly enough, did noi come info exislence under 'rhis name un+il June of l943. There had been ofher senior balls given pre- viously, buf 'rhese were no? sponsored by ihe school. One Senior Dance in l9Il was given by 'rhe alumni. Anofher Senior Farewell Dance was held a+ Eas+ Shore Park in I9l3. Various oiher dances have been held during 'rhe 'lime before 'the esfablishmenl of lhe official Senior Ball. Senior Gaieiies, a varieiry show, was added as anolher acfivify in 'lhe Fall of l955. Girls' League repre- senTaTives were Delores Moore, Lynne Miller, and Helen Filch. C.S.F. was honored by having sixly-one Sophomores on The lisT of members. Socially The class presenTed The Sophomore dance, Spring Jinx , Friday, May I3, l955. In The field oT sporTs, The Sophomores wenT all ouT. There were over Twelve Sophs on The J.V. baskeTball Team, which caplured second place in The ACAL. Miles Mes- singer and Mike Talro were ouTsTanding on The J.V. Team. The B baskeTball Team was co-champion of The ACAL, sharing honors wifh EI CerriTo. Charles Range was The Team's highesl scorer wiTh I57 poinls in 22 games. Sophomore boys enlered swim- ming and Track wiTh much enThusiasm, also. J.V. baseball displayed The following lower classmen: Dick Wyche, Gary Wrighl, Clarence Jesfield, Miles Messinger, and Grady Van Hook. ATTer a summer's vacaTion, The Golden Class reTurned wiTh enThusiasm as upper classmen. Leading The I-I I's were Don MiTchell, PresidenT: Marii Lindholm, Vice-Presi- denl, and Susie Page, SecreTary. AgusTa WolTTs, Delores Drew, and Ellen Greer were I-ll represen'laTives in Girls' League. PaTT Hall served as G. L. Treasurer. Alva Moore ioined The maioreTTes To represenl The Juniors. The Rally CommiTTee voled in eleven Juniors. SainTs and Sinners , held November 4Th, proved To be a greaT Junior dance. The Juniors really wenl oul Tor sporTs This year. Ed Neckel was The leading passer on The VarsiTy TooTbaIl Team, which had some TiTTeen Junior gridders, The J.V. TooT- ball Team, winning seven games and losing none, consisTed oT many Juniors. Some ouTsTanding players were David Shore, Dale Gerig, Dick Harmon, Charles Parr, Joe Clark, and James Turner. Nearing ThaT Senior year, The Juniors enTered Their 2-ll year wiTh greal anTicipa- Tion. OTTicers Tor This Term were Louie Eleopolous, President Ed FriTz Neckel, Vice- PresidenT, and Sandy Fleming, SecreTary. The G. L. Council consisled oT many Juniors: Delores Drew, Vice-PresidenTg Judy Clemelson, SecreTary, and Joyce Horn, Treasurer. 2-II represenlalives were Susie GoldsworThy, Nancy RhineharT, and Billie Midgley. During The 2-II semesTer, Marii Lindholm, Proseculing ATTorneyg Don MiTchell, Slu- denT Judge: Ann Sullivan, Commissioner oT Law and Order, and Tim McLaughlin, Commissioner oT Boys' AThleTics, served on The Board of Commissioners. Sfudenl CourT officers were Jim MarcheTTi, Bailiffp David Azevedo and David Shore, Assisl- ani' Judges, and Adele Miranda, Clerk. Represenling RUHS al Girls' STaTe was Carol McMahon. Gary Fernandez, Jim Kyle, David Benson, and Bob Davis aTTended Boys' STaTe. The highlight of The Junior year was The Junior Prom, OrienTale , held April 28. Leading The dance To success were commiTlee chairmen Sally Levedahi, Delores Drew, Carol Genoni, LoreTTa Salmon, Judy ClemeTson, and Ann Sullivan. The VarsiTy baskeTball Team included ouTsTanding Juniors, Mike Talro, Miles Mes- singer, and Bulch Dollar. The J.V.'s were led To ACAL championship by such players as ScoTTy Burke, Charles Range, Grady Van Hook, LeRoy Lynch, and Lonnie Johnson. This year The VarsiTy baseball Team made room Tor Juniors Miles Messinger, Bulch Dollar, Clarence JesTield, Dick Wyche, Mike Dolan and Gary Faria. The J.V. baseball Team also consisTed oT many Junior players. The VarsiTy swimming Team capTured The ACAL championship wiTh The help of Juniors Jan Vorheis, Jim MarcheTTi, Ted Bomb- ardier, Bob Davis, Gerald Gengler, and Richard Erickson. This compleles The TirsT Two years of The Golden Anniversary Class oT l957. They have been profilable and challenging years. The greaTesT year of all is conTained in The following pages.
