Our class increased fhe school enrollmenf fo a new heighf of 3,5l7 sfudenfs. Af fhis fime, we found ourselves in fhe midsf of a whirl-wind of acfivify. Our firsf sfep foward becoming a parf of high school life was elecfing l-I0 class officers. We chose George Jones fo head our class, Janice King, Vice Presidenf, and Paf Johnson, Secrefary. Our fhree Girls' League Represenfafives were Diane Armsfrong, Diane Dickinson, and Sue McMullen. Soon we acquainfed ourselves wifh fhe numerous school acfivifies and began faking an acfive parf in fhem. Larry Allagier, Marlene Hunfcr, and Joan McKinney represenf- ed our class as yell leaders. Diane Bianco, Roberfa Boy- um, Pal' Clemenfs, Glenda Emmerf, Deanna McGee, Juanifa Clark, Sharon Thornburg, and Sue Yafes were selecfed as maiorefles. Taking a prominenf parf on fhe Sophomore foofball feam were Bob Alexander, Mike Buchen, Bob Campbell, Tony Downing, Wilbur Heafh, Darrell Kloninger, John Lucas, and James Wimberley. Clyde Busby, James Gary, George Jones, Tom Malone, David Nielson, and Fred Rousseau became members of fhe Junior Varsify squad. Wifh fhe ferminafion of our firsf school semesfer, we began fo look forward fo fhe lafer half wifh more confi- dence. Elecfed fo lead us in fhe 2-I0 semesfer were George Jones, who was re-elecfed Presidenfg Sandy Baskeff, Vice Presidenf, and Jere Moore, Secrefary. Rep- resenfing our class on fhe Girls' League Council were Diane Dissmeyer, Judy Whife, and Joan McKinney. In fhe field of sporfs, our class was represenfed in baskefball, baseball, and swimming. ln baskefball we heralded Richard Thompson, Jim DeMaria, Wayne Mar- fin, Doug Walfher, Arf Hawkins, Eliia Cole, John McGill, Bob Marfin, and Morris Richey on fhe B feam. Ed Har- ris, Manuel McLeod, Norman Emerich, John Bidou, Tom Malone, Jefhro Thomas, Frank Sanfos, and Dave Nielson played on fhe Junior Varsily baskefball squad. Bofh cage feams placed ,firsf in ACAL compefifion. On fhe baseball diamond, Buzz Barreff, Jim Crummeff, Gary Duffel, Larry Newcomb, Bill Thomas, John Bidou, Mike DeBernardi, and Tom Malone played on fhe Junior Varsify, which capfured fhe ACAL championship. Eighf boys, Ted Ander- son, Arf Bombadier, Don Collins, Ken Gengler, Larry Mor- ris, Ransom Richards, Fred Rousseau, and Gene Thomas, represenfed us on fhe Swimming feam. Rudy Jackson became a member of fhe Varsify Track squad, while Elijah Cole, Arf Hawkins, Wilbur Heafh, James Neal, Leroy Thomas, John McGill, and Calvin McElroy were on B frack. No longer being scared and unknown Sophomores, we enfered our I-ll semesfer and re-elecfed fhe same offi- cers as we had in fhe 2-lO semesfer. They were George Jones, Presidenfg Sandy Baskeff, Vice Presidenf, and Jere Moore, Secrefary. This year, for fhe firsf fime, some of our classmales held posifions on fhe Board of Commission- ers and fhe Girls' League Council. Dennis Oppenheim was Commissioner of Publicify and Jack Baughman held fhe office of Sfudenf Judge. Joan McKinney carried ouf fhe dufies of Girls' League Vice Presidenf, while Judy Whife acfed as Secrefary. Pai Ballard, Claire Suffon, and Bebe Rimassa were Girls' League Represenfafives. The same members of our class represenled us as Maioreffes and Yell Leaders. On fhe foofball furf Roberf Alexander, Ken Blackburn, Mike Buchen, Bob Campbell, Dave Early, Paul Jacabo, Darrell Kloninger, Timofhy Lowe, James Wimberley, Buzz Barreff, James Gary, Wilbur Heafh, George Jones, John McGill, David Neilson, Fred Rousseau, Jefhroe Thomas, and Errol Kisfer faced fhe ACAL opponenfs. Helping fhe Varsify Baskefball Team win firsf place in fl-ie ACAL were Ed Harris, Bob Marfin, Richard Thompson, and Jefhro Thomas. Filling posifions on fhe Varsify Base- ball Team were John Bidou, Mike DeBernardi, Gary Duffel, and Tom Malone. New addifions 'ro fhe swimming feam were Richard Erickson, Allan Holbrook, and Harvey Sim- mons. On fhe frack oval were varsify members Tom Bell, Don Bush, Elijah Cole, Arf Hawkins, Calvin McElroy, John Wilbon. B frack capfured fhe services of Tony Alberf, McGill, Bob Caver, Ed Harris, Rudy Jackson, and Tyler Wilbon, Bill Teresky, James Gary, and James Neal. Puffing a glorious finish fo our second year was Fire 'N ice , our Junior Prom. Assisfing in planning fhis social acfivify were our 2-ll officers: Dave Chrisfensen, Presi- denfg Joan McKinney, Vice Presidenf, and Beffy Souza, Secrefary. Commiflee Chairman for fhe Prom were George Jones, Tickefsg Carol Alfman, Decorafionsq Sue Yafes, Publicifyg Roberfa Boyum, Enferfainmenfg Gloria Cuadros, Refreshmenfsg Diane Dissmeyer, Bids, Dennis Oppenheim and Marian Smifh, Band. During fhis semesfer Juniors who served on fhe Board of Commissioners were Jack Baughman, Vice Presidenfg Sandy Baskeff, Treasurerg Paf Clark, Commissioner of Girls' Afhleficsg Buzz Barreff, Commissioner of Boys' Afhlefics, and Dave Dansky, Commissioner of Law and Order. Paf Ballard was chosen Girls' League Secrefary while Carol Johnson, Ellen Whiffy, and Diane Sandwich became Represenfafives. We, fhe Class of l956, are forfunafe fo be fhe firsf class fo have a full year book. All,of our Senior year is porfrayed on fhe following pages. Each fime a leaf is furned, anofher accomplishmenf of our class is revealed. We will always remember wifh fondesf fhoughfs our Class of l956.
