ROBERT PASCOE Primaril Mr. Roberi Pascoe is a man's I man, brglve, hones+, and solid. His common sense and freedom from personal angularifies make him a narural refuge for sfudenfs and +eachers who need advice and help. Too sane, himself lo creafe messes, he seems always fo be called 'upon 'lo clean up +he messes of ofhers. For eighleen years he did iusl' fhis al Richmond High, firsl' as coach, fhen as dean and finally as offen as vice principal. His manner was very brisk and cleansing as fhe norfhwind. He lefl' no- body in lhe dark as +o where he sfood. His characfer generafed a moral force +ha+ kepf Richmond High well-ordered and harmonious lhroughoul The years of his service here. Mr. Pacoe is also a man of many paris. He has been +o name only a few fhings, a greaf foofball player, a longshoreman, a police officer and a naval lieufenanf. He hun+s and Fishes all over his nafive California. He gardens experlly. He reads Homer and Virgil. He is a do-i+-your- self man, wi+h greal' successes in carpenfry, plumbing and paper-hanging. He sails +he boal +ha+ he buil'I' wifh his own hands. He works on his impressive collecfion of s+amps and coins. Some say +ha'l' he can do anyfhing, and fhey may be right Bu'f a mere lisl' of Mr. Pascoe's capaciiies do nor convey fhe man, his down-+o-ear+h humor his ease of manner, and his rafher leonine a'Hi- 'lude of being monarch of all he surveys. One mus+ know him +o appreciafe him. We, +he February Class of l955, have known Mr. Pascoe well. Fufure classes will no+ have 'lhis privilege because he lefi' our school in mid- semesler +o become principal of Roosevell Junior High School. ln view of fhis, we wanl' fo con1'ribu+e our knowledge of him +0 'lhe growing legend by biding him a fond 'farewell in our Shield.
