Alpine lodge sets stage for snowball A simulated ski lodge set the stage for “Alpine Holiday,” Snowball 1971. Couples danced amidst Christmas trees, silver tinsel, and sparkling lights reflected by a revolving mirror ball. Dance music was provided by Mel Haney’s eleven-piece orchestra. Sleds, snowmen, and a snowmobile added final touches to the wintry atmosphere. The “coronation” of Snowball king and queen, Rex Dwyer and Leslie Zimmer, highlighted the evening. Candy canes presented to each couple bv Santa Randy Webb served as momentoes of the long-to-be-remem-bered evening.
