Left: The Notional Honor Society Induction Assembly, Nov. 3, 1961. Below: But my mother didn't woke me in time! is o fomiliar sound. BUT THE STUDENTS CONTINUED WORKING 4 The growl of bulldozers, the chatter of hammers, the smell of roofing pitch, and the odor of wet paint have been just as much a part of life at high school this year as classes, dances, and sports events. Sounds of the new construction have echoed throughout the halls, foreshadowing exciting things to come. In the original building of sixty classrooms, R.H.S. students have found things quite crowded. The addition will make the twenty-five year-old building more functional and spacious. There will be no more classes in the basement of Joseph Moore and also no more home rooms in the cafeteria. Already finished is the new cafeteria with a seating capacity for seven hundred. A new shop area, new science and language laboratories, and a driver training room are highlights of the new structure. Our new addition, the future swimming pool, and the new girls' gymnasium will make Richmond Senior High School not only the pride of the students, but the pride of the community as well.
